I have compiled a comprehensive lists of useful software and tricks i have researched into, used repeateadly and found through many means. Though many people do not know of these things as they are not widely discussed. I'm here to reveal these useful tricks that can do wonders for you. Information would be kept simple so that everyone can undestand. Note: all these downloads are free and are very useful while the information is only the important points to keep things short. Use Ctrl+f to find key words easily and highlight words then use Ctrl+c to copy then Ctrl+v to paste anywhere. Note:Some downloads are in a .rar format so use winrar to extract- can be downloaded from 10th point.

1.Internet download manager 5.17(IDM)

Internet download manager is a useful tool that can speed downloads up to 5 times, allowing the resuming and scheduling of downloads. Includes auto-installer which easily installs IDM and patches by automatically controlling the mouse cursor and keys.

Note:For v5.17 IDM use Auto-Installer only if you already have a copy of IDM Installed.

3. Full version of AVG internet security FREE!

Avg is rated one of the best anti-virus software, i rate it as the best. This method no longer works as AVG has fixed this trick, the free edition is still good.

[This is how you do it:

1. Right click on the time on the bottom right corner of your computor screen
2. Click 'Adjust time/Date'
3. Change it to say 40 years ahead so 2049
4. Install Avg free trial of full version
5. Once installed change the date back to present date
6. Now you have a full version of Avg internet security free for 40 years.

4.Maintain and speed your computor up

Follow these steps every few weeks to keep your computor running as smoothly as it can.

1. Unistall programs you don't use

Go to start>Control panel>Add or remove programs, choose the programs you don't use on the list and uninstall them.

2. Clean the "rubbish" or "useless files" on your computor with CCleaner

CCleaner is a freeware PC optimization tool. It combines a system cleaner that removes unused and temporary files from your system and also a fully featured registry cleaner. CCleaner allows Windows to run faster, more efficiently and gives you more hard disk space.

3. Remove startup items with CCleaner

A startup item is a key in the registry which tells the computer to start up an executable file. There are probably many startups that you dont know about.

4. Reinstalling windows

As you use Windows, build-up of things make your computer perform slower and therefore you should reinstall Windows about once year.

Well you may have heard of the controversial peer to peer sites allowing the people to upload files which other people can download. Many of the sites are still running without chance of shutting down as its hard to make a case againist them. Millions and millions of people use these but quite a lot of people don't know these sites exist. Individuals can use these sites at a risk but there is basically no chance of anything happening unless you distribute and burn the files to alot people, i mean a lot! NOTE:USE AT OWN RISK (certainly 0% risk of something happening other than getting virus, some music files are the ones with the viruses so be careful) You can also download any software for free which theres crack included that disables the key you need to enter. The more the people upload a.ka. 'seed', the faster the download will be, while 'leach' is how many people downloading the files. Once a file has no seed, the file is then undownloadable (if thats a word).

6. Word web 5 pro

Word web is a very good Dictionary/Thesaurus that can also be installed as a portable app.

7. Free games on the nintendo ds

By buying products like the r4 and m3 cards you can use them to download game files and put them on them allowing the playing of free games. But be careful as there are many copy versions using their names which are not any good. There are some court cases between the companies and the game producers arguing the legitimate use which is backup copies of the game they bought, using homebrew software and the uses it enable like the case with the VCR player allowing the recording of movies. There are many other things you can do with the R4/M3 like watch movies, making a telephone call, play music and others....

To play free games follow these steps:

1. Buy a r4, M3 or other similar products (you can get them from some chinese shops and the internet.)

2. Download kernel which is the software that allows the games to be played, found by typing 'r4' or 'M3' on google and downloading the latest kernel

3.Copy the folders and files into the microSD card using a sd card reader included when you buy the r4/M3

5. Inset the microSD card into the r4/M3

5. Play the games (the kernel comes with cheats so you can cheat in some games..)

I personally played a lot of the games from highly rated to popular to the downright useless. I have to say nintendo ds games "stink" like hell, well most of them, i would recommend these games to you as they are pretty much the only good ones out:

1. Zelda:the phantom hourglass (action adventure)
   
2. Pokemon Platnium, pearl and diamond (RPG: all pretty much the same)
3. Grand theft auto:chinatown wars (action, adventure of drugs and gangs)
   
4. Brain age 1 and 2, big brain acadamey, sight training (good for stimulation)
5. Professor Layton: the curious village( very good puzzles)
6. Mario kart (fun racing game, fun with multiplayer)
7. Mario and sonic at the Beijing olympics (fun events for a while)
8. Mario party (board game with minigames fun with mutiplayer)
   

8. Nav n Go i Go8 -GPS for windows mobile 5-6

Want a gps software for your mobile instead of buying an expensive gps? Heres how you do it but may require some work. Theres only link of australian maps, people from other countries may need to find their maps on their own.

iGo8; 8.0.0.55127 (R1) is the Latest for Australia and New Zealand (R15)
Works on any phone running windows mobile i.e. Omnia. GPS only works on phones with GPS receiver.

iGo8 is much better then TomTom7 as it has Better looks, faster lock time and more.

This one comes with:

2. English US and UK Voice (Male and Female)

4. Default Base map 8
5. Works with screen size: 240x240, 240x320, 240x400, 320x240, 320x320, 400x240

Installation

1. Download the GPS Software
2. Download Map data or get your own; must be for R1 software
3. Place the map, building, voice etc. in the "\iGo8\Content\" folder
4. Place the 2577 and iGo8 folder in the root(first level) of your Memory Card
5. When you turn on your phone, you should get a message saying Auotrun. Click 'Allow' and install it to your phone.
6. After Install, Exit the application (Menu>(Power sign)>Exit. Not by pressing the "END" key.
7. Go to Main Menu>Settings>System>External GPS
8. Set GPSProgramPort to "COM2"
9. Set GPSHardwarePort to "COM9" Baud Rate "9600"
10. Tick the "Manage GPS Automatically Checkbox.
11. Save Settings
12. Run iGo8 and go to Settings>GPS> Disable GPS>ChangePort to "2" and Baud Rate to "9600"
13. Customise your own settings to your liking
    

This software has urge to change your system time zone. During daylight savings, your clock may change. To stop the time changing automatically you can go to MainMenu>Settings>System>Clock and Alarms>More>Time Zone Updating:Manual Only

To get a good GPS lock time, make sure you have a clear view of the sky and not  too may buildings that are blocking the receiver. Also Try to hold the Phone with your fingers on the side.

Plenty of conversion for different devices allowing you to watch on almost anything.Include auto-installer.

Problems that may arise

Un-synchronised A/V: You need to select Default under A/V Sync. Basic will have higher latency if it isn't a high quality video rip to low quality.

Slow converting speed: Check to see if you  turn the Threading abilities on thus only using half the power of your CPU, If your CPU speed is equal to or greater than 1.8GHz then turn the threading on in Convert>Options>Threading. Use 4 if you don't know much about threading else use what you feel is right.

11.Other random information

1.Wonder why when you buy a usb and you get much less space? Its because1 megabyte=1024 kilobytes so when you by a 2 GB usb you only have 1.955 GB minus the formatting as well. Humans just count 1 megabyte as 1000 kilobytes for ease.

2.Having too many ad-ons is bad, it took me a while to find out that too many ad-ons can slow your webpage loading time.. get good ad-ons only, like forecastfox and Adblock plus

16.The unlocker

Seen the following annyoing message by windows?

• Cannot delete file: Access is denied
• There has been a sharing violation.
• The source or destination file may be in use.
• The file is in use by another program or user.
• Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

Easy..! Right click a file /folder and click unlocker then unblock all

17. Useful ways of preserving your ipod's battery life

There are many causes that drains power in ipods but addressing the problem without the hard facts. These tips could apply to other electronics.

1. Compression is an effective way of encoding music, it helps the hard drive to work less due to the reduced file size.

2. Battery Health measures the capable storage of the battery, like all batteries in electronics e.g. nintendo ds, mobile phones, excessive tempeature and a prolonged period of discharge causes the battery to wear out.

3. Brightness in all  electronics drain power, try to turn it low as possible to conserve power.

4. Skipping songs can be inefficient so make playlists to conserve power used.

5. Backlight  consumes a quite hefty chunk of power, around 30% so try to prevent the baclight from going on for a long time.
