The Vision by Debi Pearl
63
Author's Background
Many know the name Debi Pearl because of her work co-authoring child training books like To Train Up a Child. Her last release was Created to Be His Helpmeet, a book presenting truth diametrically opposite of the feminist agenda. It is, instead, a successful attempt to present the role of married women from a purely Biblical perspective. As you can imagine, it has generated both praise and controversy.
Debi Pearl has now delved into the realm of fiction with a purpose in her latest book, The Vision. The setting of the story is obviously taken from their own rural Tennessee location and centers on the distribution of her husband’s book Good and Evil. (This is a chronological Bible in pictures, containing a clear Gospel message. In fact, their goal is to translate this book, now colorized, into 100 different languages and distribute it throughout the world.)
Book Synopsis
The Vision may well stir as much controversy as her marriage
book. In the story, a plot by Muslim extremists to stop the Arabic
translation of the storybook is learned. The man involved in this work
was killed and his mentor, Asher, is determined to carry on the work.
He moves to the area of eastern Tennessee where the book is printed.
The
book is based on well-researched facts, including the use of herbal
remedies. In the plot, a secret herbal mix is sold to provide money for
the book distribution but White Supremacist organizers work to funnel
the herbal money for their own purposes.
Next Ashur learns of a
major fault extending through Yellowstone Park. This threatens to
virtually destroy the country with lava and ash if it gives way.
The
publishing center also becomes a haven for Magdalene, a woman who had
ruined her life in sin but experiences Christian love from the
community of ladies. Each group is moving in on their goals, including
the Last Publishers who are printing and distributing the Illustrated
Bible book.
The author’s summary of the book concludes, “But at
the most unexpected moment it seems that the terrorists win. Is it
over? Is God in control?” Some conflicts are resolved but others are
not, leaving you hungry for the next book in the series.
The Vision by Debi Pearl
is bound to provide inspiration, information, excitement, and
challenge. To some, it may be more prophetic than they would like to
believe.
Update: The book has been on the Amazon Top 100 a total of 5 times since its release on 7/1/09 and has earned the right to be called an Amazon Best Seller. It has also been in the Top 10 on Barnes and Noble so it appears people are enjoying it and telling others.
