The worlds biggest mystery definitely has to be the meaning of life. We have lived in this world for millions of years yet we still haven't figured it out. Sure, we have sources of information and inspiration from which to derive our beliefs, though there is little scientific evidence to back them up. The mystery of the meaning of life leads us into looking for answers, which in turn makes us more suggestible to the idea of religion, as it is human nature to find someting to believe in. Each and every one of us needs something to believe in, to help us get through life and to provide us with faith in something and because of this most people turn to religion. It provides them with someting sacred, something magical that can make them feel more comfortable living in a world so difficult and bizarre. Yet, from my eyes, it is delusional. Does it say anything about dinosaurs in the bible? Hasn't it been scientifically proven that half of the bible was made up in order to fit the historical half? And with so many different religions to choose from, who's to say which one of them is right? If we take a look at religious beliefs thousands of years ago, you will see that there was a time when people believed the sun to be a god who they used to worship. It has, I think, an uncanny similarity to belief in the superstitious and the paranormal and even psychic ability. How much evidence is there to support superstition and the paranormal? The only scientific evidence related to these beliefs can be attained from the subjects of parapsychology and parascience, all of which explain things in normal understandable scientific terms and makes them not paranormal or superstitious in any way. I think it is the mystery of the meaning of life and why we are here that leads us into behaving this way. It leads us into believing all sorts of crazy, self-delusional things and it's part of human nature.
