“The chief evil is the suffering of the body.” –Leonardo da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci knew it more than 500 years ago – “The worst thing in life is being in physical pain.” Suffering is indeed as Da Vinci put it, “The chief evil!” in life, isn’t it?. It’s even worse than a bad economy, or bad breaks in life. Suffering of the body is just plain “orrendo” (that’s the Italian word Da Vinci would have used for “horrible!”)

If you have pain you’d like to get rid of, I have very good news for you (and Da Vinci would have loved this too). I have discovered what I call “The Da Vinci Secret Health Code.” It is purely to help people living here in The South Bay chase away the suffering of the body, and to enjoy optimal health and wellness.

Is it possible to get rid of your pain? Yes, it absolutely is! And I’ll tell you about it in a second.

There’s no way I can’t paint like Da Vinci, but I can do something he wanted to do. I make sick people well most every day! For that reason some call me “The Da Vinci of Health.” I admire Leonardo da Vinci because he was way ahead of his time as an artist and inventor. In addition to painting the “Mona Lisa,” he envisioned and drew pictures of helicopters, submarines, parachutes, and airplanes hundreds of years before they were invented. As Leonardo pondered and wrote that the “chief evil in life is the suffering of the body, “I just wonder how much he yearned to invent something that would solve the problem?

It took an over 360 years from Leonardo’s time, but it finally happened. In 1895 a doctor living in Iowa discovered something Da Vinci would have jumped for joy over! (And I discovered it for myself a few years ago.) It eliminates the “chief evil”… the suffering of the body. If Da Vinci was alive today, he’d say “alé!” (That’s Italian for “Hurray!”) The discovery is what’s known as something you’ve probably heard of: Chiropractic.

Da Vinci’s comments about going to doctors

Da Vinci was highly critical of the physicians of his day. He didn’t see good in medicine. He wrote, “Every man wishes to make money to give to the doctors, destroyers of life...” Da Vinci added, “…shun physicians because their drugs are a kind of alchemy…he who takes medicine is ill-advised.”

Chiropractic care was discovered hundreds of years after Da Vinci, by Dr. D.D. Palmer. I believe Da Vinci would have been very pleased with chiropractic’s ability to eliminate “the chief evil of suffering of the body” today.

Da Vinci studied how the human body works, and the importance of a well maintained spinal cord. Good spinal health leads to good nervous system health. And that, as Da Vinci might say, “provides proof that Chiropractic is the chief good for the body, because it eliminates the chief evil of the body.” If Da Vinci was living today, I’m sure he’d be a chief proponent of Chiropractic. This is what I believe Da Vinci’s comments about Chiropractic would be if he were here today:

“I painted the Mona Lisa. I painted the Last Supper. I drew the Vitruvian Man. In each of these works of art I pictured the ideal, those in robust health, without the ‘chief evil’ of suffering of the body. If I were living today, chiropractic would be ‘my secret to great health.’ I would probably even be a chiro-practor! (Yes, I’ve taken liberties here in writing in the voice of Da Vinci. But hey, I figure if that Dan Brown guy who wrote the book and movie, “The Da Vinci Code®” can do it, I can do it!)
