Money Savers

Christmas only comes once every year thank goodness,it is a very expensive time for all.

There are alot of ways that you can save money at Christmas time without spoiling the day for all.

TIP 1)Presents: You go into a department store and discover that the first thing your child has asked for from Santa is $300.

DON'T PANIC!!! walk out of the shop check out the item on the internet,in most cases you could save approx 20% ,if you dont like shopping on the internet, check out small retailers, they are fighting with the department stores for your custom and I have found that most of them are willing to haggle a little over the price, you could save about $50 that way and if the Item takes batteries ask the retailer to throw them in with the deal.

Also if the small retailer has more than 1 of the items on your list he will be more than willing to give you a deal on a bulk purchase.

TIP 2)Decorations: some people go over the score with decorations, all over the inside and out side of their homes, their houses lit up like the proverbial Christmas tree, sometimes it looks great but most of the time it looks tacky and gross.

save money by re using your christmas decorations or even by making some of your own there are plenty websites out there which show cheap and easy ways to make your own decorations, the only lights you need are the ones you hang on your tree.you will save on electricty that way too.

TIP 3)It is nice to have a real tree at christmas, but new technology has come up with fake trees that look almost like real trees,if you buy a fake tree you can use it year after year, which saves you money in the long run, another benefit is that there will be one less tree cut down every Christmas.

TIP 4)When wrapping presents dont buy gift tags, use last years Christmas cards cut off the back where the senders name is and use the picture side write the name of the recipient on the back.(may only save 2-3 dollars but at christmas every cent counts).

TIP 5)Having alot of family and friends round for Christmas dinner can turn out to be very expensive. Theme it tell your guests in advance of course, that this year you are having a world Christmas dinner, draw names and countries out of a hat and ask them to bring a traditional christmas food from that country and a drink from that country,e.g Scotland (scotch broth food and whisky drink.

have a wonderful christmas.....jimmy
