49I would say that it is a biological imperative that we care for each other. As children we cannot fend for ourselves from birth and as such we are conditioned to understand the merits of altruism. While it could be argued that it is actually self interest that motivates the acts of kindness between kin I know that we are all an extended family, one that argues and fights and delights in all the madness and mayhem that comes when 7 billion people try to share center stage but nonetheless I am constantly amazed by the random acts of kindness that I see surrounding me. The only thing greater than man's capacity for violence is man's capacity for compassion. But what do I know, I just live here?
So I'm throwing this out to you all in hubland, the media in reality tend to shy away from stories of compassion and altruism in the main, regarding such as nothing more than filler for the end of the broadcast. So I ask you all to add any uplifting stories you come accross on the web on out there in the outranet so we can all take a breath and remember that not everyone is an axe weilding mass murderer out to decapitate you and suck out your brains through a curly straw... Just that guy creeping up behind you! ;)
