Read This Before You Buy A New Bluetooth Enabled Headset

With all new technology, coolness is an important factor. I'm willing to bet it's not just the iPod's capabilities that make it so popular. But, beyond that, here are somethings to consider before you buy a new headset. If you do, you'll be sure to get the latest Bluetooth gear that works well for you *and* looks hot.

1. What Features Are Important To You?

Is it sweat/water resistant for all you work out hounds? Does it have noise cancellation or digital processing? What range does it have? Handsfree call reject? Call forwarding? Call answer/end? Or 3-way calling? Can you adjust the volume? How many different devices can you use it with?

2. Is It Easy To Use?

Can you take it on and off easily? For those of us with long hair, will it get tangled? Can you wear it on either ear? (is that still called ambidextrous?) Can you manipulate the buttons easily? Is it comfortable? Is it heavy? Can you wear it with glasses? (Don't forget that includes sunglasses!)

3. Battery Life

How long will the battery last? (Don't forget to check "talk time" and "standby") Is the battery replaceable or rechargeable? How do you know when it's almost dead? How do you know when it's fully charged? Can the battery be charged via USB or car kit?

4. Cost

How much do you have to spend on another gadget? By the time you get to this consideration, you should know which features are most important to you and what you're willing to pay for them. Good news is, there doesn't seem to be a correlation between price and performance. And there are many good deals out there if you look for them.

5. Does It Work With Your Device?

Many cell phone providers are Bluetooth enabled. Just make sure to check with the company first and see if the phone version and headset version are compatible. Same goes for all the other gadgets that have Bluetooth these days.

6. Is It Cool?

Couldn't resist. Coolness is definitely a factor so if you think jet black or metallic blue is sexy, go for it. Nothing feels better than feeling good about a new purchase.

It is really important to find the right fit for your bluetooth headset. Comfort is everything. Wireless bluetooth headset has become a must have accessory for bluetooth-enabled cell phones, due to cell phone laws that restrict people from talking on the phone while driving.
