The Virtual Golf Lesson On How To Improve Your Mental Game

I heard very often since I was a kid that the game of golf was really very stupid:. I comsisted in just a big guy pushing a little ball into a little hole.

Playing tennis, baseball, basketball or football was for real man.

I tried in my younger years most of these tough games including horseback riding, scuba diving, jogging, tennis.

Now in my 60's I have taken golfing a game I don't play well but I enjoyed anyhow.

I have had the privilige of playing in in more than 20 golf courses ,most of them in the Dominican Republic and others in the USA.

What I enjoyed most of this game is walking and enjoying the landscape and not caring too much about the number of strokes.

Pure air , adrenalin, endorphins, disconnecting for a few hours form the everyday problems represent my idea of this game.

Of course when when I make a few pars them I am really happy.

Playing with some pros who have been kind enough to give some tips has been one of the happiest moments of my life.

So this sport called golf. is more than Just whacking the ball from location to another, until finally, it lands on the intended hole.

You have to take into consideration that this game is more than that.

IIt;s really a combination of different sports; The phisical game and the intellectual game which represents at leas 90% of your road to victory.

Let's face it. Golf isn't a physically extraneous sport. Play an hour of basketball and a an hour of golf and you'll feel a lot of disparities.

However, golf is a more intellectually tiring sport. The mind will be at work at all times, ordering the body how to perform, and more importantly, how to act with calculated grace.

If you wish to improve your game, it's important to focus much of your attention on improving your mental game.

There are 3 basic steps to mentalize yourself for victory:

1-Don't let the golf course scare you. You can control the golf course! No matter if the golf course looks gigantic.Remember that good planning is the secret to defeat any enemy.Remember one hole at a time. Familiarize yourself with the course and the current outside factors so that you can get a hold of the perfect shots for your game.

2- Proper attire. This may sound stupid, but among the golf advice that we are talking about, this may offer the most immediate outcomes. What you put on will provide you confidence. Picture going to the meeting room sporting tennis clothes. You'd be the butt of all the jokes of the administrators, and you'll most probably undergo a hit on your self-worth. By dressing appropriately for a game of golf, you will be able to concentrate more on your game. It's your means of instructing yourself "it's time for business."

3- Search for your tempo. You may have noticed some professional golfers doing a wiggle prior to a shot. You may have noticed some expert golfers with unique follow-throughs for every swing. These are more than just artistic exaggeration for games magazine photographers. They develop those extra motions to aid them institute and maintain their tempo. Golf is, in fact a sort of tempo. Once you're in the zone, you're in the tempo.
