There is not a lot known about Wallace D. Wattles, all the information we have on him is from a letter from his daughter Florence Wattels wrote after he died h to the New Thought author Elizabeth Towne.Towne was the editor of the magazine Nautilus where Wattels published a lot a articles.

The info we have is that Wattels was born in the USA right after the civil war, and he had a hard time in his early life, later on he started to study religious beliefs and philosophies like Spinoza, Gottfried Leibniz, Schopenhauer, Hegel.

The most influence on Wattels thinking came from a man named George Davis Herron ho was a professor of Applied Christianity at Grinnell College who was then attracting a lot of attention by preaching some form of Christian Socialism.

Wattels became a social visionary and started to practice of the technique of creative visualization, it was then that Wattels created his own clear mental image and started to see himself as a successful writher and a advancing man.

He was sick for the last years of his life and in 1911 one year after the science of getting rich came out he died at age of 51
