While using specially formulated skincare regimens are probably the best way to deal with your acne problem, there are some acne home remedies that have turned out to be successful for some acne sufferers.

So if you want to try some simple and inexpensive home remedies that might help with your acne breakouts, then take a look at some of your options here and check your fridge and cabinets to see whether you have the ingredients on hand.

Acne home remedies tend to be kitchen-based folk cures. They may work for some people's skin, but they won't work for everyone. If they do work, it usually isn't an overnight miracle. So you'll need a little patience -- give them a week or two before giving up.

Lemon Juice for Blackheads

If you have some lemons in the house, cut them and half and squeeze the juice out of them. Before bed, Use a cotton ball to rub the lemon juice over the areas where the blackheads are showing. Wash the lemon juice off your skin in the morning. You should hopefully see some results in a week or two.

Toothpaste as a Pimple Remover

I actually find this a pretty effective home remedy for regular pimples. A little bit of regular toothpaste (not gel!) dabbed on a pimple before bed should dry it up significantly. Just wash it off in the morning. For some people though, you may find that the toothpaste irritates your skin more than it helps. It just depends. But it may be worth trying at least once to see if it will work for you. Just remember to use regular toothpaste and not a gel.

An Oatmeal Mask for Clear Skin

You can use the oatmeal mask as either a spot treatment or use it on your entire face. The oatmeal should make your skin feel nice and soft and it also has a calming effect on your skin.

Take a 1/2 cup of oatmeal, mix it in a blender until it is the consistency of powder. Then add just enough water to make a paste.

Apply the oatmeal mask to your pimples or to your whole face. Once the oatmeal dries and gets crumbly, it's time to wash it off.

Do any of these acne home remedies work for you?
