This hub is a compilation of all of my different Timeshare hubs. It's broken up into two sections -- the first is general articles about timesharing, with hints and tips on how to get the best deals on buying a timeshare, what to wary about when it is time to sell your timeshare and how to get value out of your timeshare on your vacations

Section two covers the different timeshare systems. So whether you are looking at buying a Marriott timeshare, Disney Vacation Club or another big resort company such as Sheraton or Hyatt, I can provide you an overview of each company's timeshare program.

I'll be doing more hubs on timeshares over the next couple of months so I thought it would be useful to have one page that points to each of them, and this hub will be updated as new ones are created.

My Timeshare Guides on Hubpages

I first became interested in timeshares on a trip to Florida with my parents back when I was still in high school. We'd gone on a timeshare presentation in order to get some Disney tickets and I fell in love with the idea of timeshares then. Fortunately, my parents completely ignored my please to buy right there and then, saving them a hell of a lot of money.

Now that I'm older and wiser, I'd think twice about buying from a developer, though I did choose to buy directly from Disney a few years ago (and have not regretted doing so). My second timeshare though, at Royal Holiday Club, was bought on Ebay for the princely sum of $100 plus closing costs.

These articles are all based upon my own experiences and research into the timeshares industry. Hopefully they'll help you decide whether timesharing is right for you and if so, they'll help you get the best prices for whatever type of timeshare you decide to buy.

Timeshare Companies

Timesharing has changed a great deal over the years and one of the biggest changes has got to be the decision by most of the major hotel chains to get involved in interval vacation ownership. So now there are timeshares owned and/or operated by Marriott, Sheraton, Hyatt, and Hilton.

Between these companies and Disney Vacation Club, I think they've done a great deal to increase both the popularity of timesharing and owner satisfaction. Of course, you get what you pay for and all of these hotel chains (plus DVC) tend to be rather pricey at developer's prices, but you can find better deals on resale if you are patient and willing to wait.

My plan is to create a hub for each of the major companies or conglomerates involved in the timeshare industry and I'll update this page with their info as I get to them.

One of the other big changes is the move away from fixed week timeshares to points and mini-systems. I think programs like Worldmark, RCI Points, and Bluegreen, etc. have really made timesharing much more flexible than it ever was, especially for those of us who like to vacation for a few days here and there or who don't make plans 12 months in advance. I'll be covering these types of resorts as well.

And finally, if you are looking for a good value in timeshares, you might want to look at buying a Wyndham timeshare. Wydham recently took over Fairfield so they have one of the largest inventories of timeshare resorts to pick from -- and Wyndham points are available very cheaply on the resale market.
