Tip for publishing a cook book! by Mad Me!

I don't think that there is anyone in this world who cannot publish some sort of a cook book. I take my 72 year old mom for example. She was really brought up in the good old days and my grandmother did not have recipe books and would amazingly cook by adding a handful of this or a handful of that! Wow and a meal was there. They never had all the fancy stuff and ingredients we have today and their food was probably more plain and simply however still today my mom tends to just take a recipe and add a handful of this and that and wow! Her church wanted to raise funds and being a 7th day Adventist a lot of the member do not eat meat and are vegetarians. So my mom had an idea to print her own little cook book which would be sold for a small fee to raise funds for the Church - well that little cook book that she has printed made quite a tidy sum towards there needs. So her booklet was based on her recipes that she had adapted accordingly and the ones that many of her church people had admired whenever she was to take a dish towards a meal.

So depending on what type of cook book you are wanting to print it depends on whether you have your own tried and tested recipes and if not ask around your friends will have ones that they use regularly or put up and ad at school and see what type of response you get. Don'T forget to test them first. Then you get onto the computer type them up and if you have a nice camera you can take pictures to demonstrate what the meals look like and go to a local printing house and get them to print them for you. Obviously if you want to publish and upmarket cook book them you need to find a publishing house that feel that there is a need for another book on the market. I must admit that I have over the years collected many however the one that my mom made with no fuss and bother gets used more often because on does not have to go out and buy special stuff most of it is already in the kitchen cupboard.

Well good luck and I hope this has helped a little!
