If you have problems with toe nail fungus, you've probably been going out of your mind trying to find treatments that actually work. Maybe you've even thought of resorting to paying several hundred dollars a month for prescription medications, even though you know they might cause liver or kidney damage.

Thankfully though, there are actually many natural toe nail fungus treatments that you might want to consider trying instead. Several of these work fairly quickly, and most of them are quite inexpensive too.

There are some important things to know about when treating toe nail fungus though, so let's look at those briefly for a moment:

- Don't paint your toe nails with dark polish. Many women do this instinctively as a way to hide the fungus problems, and it can hide them... but it also tends to make the problems worse. Fungus thrives in warm, dark environments. So painting your toe nails - particularly with dark shades of polish - only serves to help the fungus thrive and multiply.

- Toe nail fungus is contagious, so be sure you're not sharing shoes, bedding, or socks with other people who aren't affected. Also be sure to clean out your bathtub and shower often, to keep the fungus from spreading to other areas of your own body, or to other people who use the same facilities.

- When choosing a toe nail fungus treatment, you'll need to be sure you stick with the treatment daily until all traces of the fungus are gone. Skipping a treatment could cause the fungus to "jump" to the new, healthy nail you've been developing.

- Toe nail fungus treatments can take many months to work completely. This is because part of the treatment involves growing in new, healthy toe nails. And this takes time.

Now that you know about some of the general do's and don'ts of toe nail fungus, let's look at some easy treatment options.

1. Buy some listerine mouthwash. Plain old fashioned listerine mouthwash is a very strong antiseptic that works wonderfully as a toe nail fungus treatment. Just soak your toe nails in listerine at least once or twice each day until the fungus is fully gone.

2. Buy some distilled, or apple cider vinegar. Vinegar is another inexpensive, every day item that is often used very effectively as a toe nail fungus treatment. It too is a powerful antiseptic, which means it's great at killing the fungus under your toe nails.

The apple cider vinegar might have a more pleasing smell for some people, but it also has an added exfoliating effect. Apple cider vinegar will soften your skin and remove dead skin and debris, which makes it easier for the vinegar to penetrate to the fungus infected areas of your toe nails.

3. Buy some Lemon Juice, or lemongrass oil. Lemon juice is yet another everyday item that can be purchased anywhere, and it too has antiseptic sterilizing properties. That makes it an excellent choice as a toe nail fungus treatment. Alternatively, an herbal option available in most health food stores is lemongrass oil. This usually comes with a dropper for easy application, and since it is an oil it can help keep the skin around your toe nails from drying and peeling too much.

When you use lemongrass oil as a toe nail treatment, the fungus infected areas will turn black within minutes. This is simply an indication the lemongrass is killing the fungus. Keep using this treatment daily though, until all traces of the toe nail fungus are gone.

hmmm... nobody knows the magic of cedarsoles. I think it's the best way preventing foot problems: foot odor, sweaty feet, nail fungus or even athlete's foot. The wood binds moisture and reduces germs.
