Soulmate Definition and Lore!

Soulmate is a term sometimes used to designate someone with whom one has a feeling of deep and natural affinity, love, intimacy, sexuality, spirituality, and compatibility. A related concept is that of the twin flame or twin soul - which is thought to be the ultimate soulmate, the one and only other half of one’s soul, for which all souls are driven to find and join. However, not everyone who used these terms intends them to carry such mystical connotations.

One theory of soulmates, presented by in Plato's Symposium, is that humans originally consisted of four arms, four legs, and a single head made of two faces, but Zeus feared their power and split them all in half, condemning them to spend their lives searching for the other half to complete them.

Some people believe that souls are literally made and/or fated to be the mates of each other, or to play certain other important roles in each other's lives.

According to theories popularized by Theosophy and in a modified form by Edgar Cayce, God created androgynous souls, equally male and female. The souls split into separate genders later, perhaps because they incurred karma while playing around on the Earth, or "separation from God". Over countless reincarnations, each half seeks the other. When all karmic debt is purged, the two will fuse back together and return to the ultimate.

My Story and Advice!

I was one of the lucky ones who found their soulmate at a young age! I met him though a silly group I was involved in at the time called Amtgard. (Amtgard - A medieval boffer fighting group or LARP group) We talked on the internet for a while and then on the phone! Before I knew it we had become best friends! We were both moving around a lot at the time and never were in the same state as the other for long. Our phone numbers would change every other week it seemed as did our e-mail addresses and home addresses but against all odds we kept in contact. Within a matter of months he became, for me, a best friend that I could and did tell everything to, a brother that I could go to when I needed help or a shoulder to cry on, and a dream, because I thought that we would never be able to be anything more than best friends. We kept each other sane through life’s tribulations and we became so close that it seemed like we could feel when the other was happy or needed help. Five years into the friendship, life threw me a curve ball that ended in a beautiful little girl and dropped us in the middle of my soul mate’s life. Life since then has been wonderful! Ive never been so happy in my life and I know that all of the stupid things in my past happened for a reason, happened so that I could get to this point of bliss!

Ask yourself how happy you are in your current relationship. I used to think that it was the way things were supposed to be when I was happy maybe 10% of the time. I thought it was normal that my significant other was an ass to me and only did nice and romantic things when I was about to leave him. But now, living in a situation where I am happy 98% of the time, I see my error. It doesn’t take going all out and being completely romantic, to make happiness. All it takes is thinking of your love and wanting to be closer to them and show them how much you care. A little note just to say that they are thinking about you, goes a long way! All of life’s stresses were wearing on me before this and there is still stress but now the stress is lessened and mixed in with the emotions of excitement, happiness, and incentive to do good and go far so that I can make a life with my family!

Please, please, please don’t settle for the 10% happy relationship, don’t stay if you are getting physically hurt (and don’t like it or ask for it…) , if you are terrified of your other then its probably not the right one… Don’t give up on finding your soul mate because it is worth everything you have to go through to find it! Even if you are tired of ‘the game’ there still might be a chance because you might just find them when you least expect it and when you’re not even looking!

If you have found and lost your soul mate for some reason or another, try to make things better because you will regret it the rest of your life if you don’t. Soul mate relationships are easier to fix than most because you are two of the same, you will forever be drawn to one another, and you will never stop thinking about the other. Those things lead to second chances so try!

When you find that special someone, always show them that you love them and keep the magic alive and you will continue to grow together and make the kind of happiness that neither of you could ever imagine could happen to you!
