torture
54I as a citizen of this great country, USA, would be highly disappointed if no-one gets convicted from an International treaty from totorture. We as the United States don't want any one torturing our citizens. So while George W. Bush was the President it became legal to totorture others? I find this disgraceful. Mr.Cheney has openly said they tortured and got helpful leads. I find this to be a lie, it was all a work to keep the American people living in fear from the "TERRORIST". I don't deny terrorism is real. I just find it shady how we attack a country that supposedly had "WMD's" but it was released by a CIA agent that this country had no"WMD's". Yet till this day our troops are fighting in this country, and we had built a multi million dollar embassy in this country.
During the reign of the Bush Administration we had water boarded captives. A technique proven NOT to work effectively. Not to mention how illegal it was. I don't think any one would have really found about the torturing had it not been for John McCain saying we will end torture during the elections.
Under the treaty on torture if another country finds that our government officials were involved in torture they can be arraigned in the prosecuting country. Which would then be punishable by their laws and could lead to be-headings, public hangings, and other ways that punish criminals. Now I know you Mr. President were not involved. However if another country wants to prosecute those who were involved and are found guilty I have no problem letting them go to the punishing country. Because in America no-one, and I say NO_ONE is above the law.
