How I Know I Should Own Sprint's HTC Touch Pro2
It must be my destiny for me to buy Sprint's version of the powerhouse smartphone HTC Touch Pro2. I say this because I was looking for another phone to upgrade to earlier this week. Currently I'm being held hostage to a pretty generic Sprint flip phone, my back-up phone because my other one, the Samsung ACE was destroyed in the washer.
Anyway, I say it's fated for me to get this phone because the day I went searching for cell phones with QWERTY keyboards, September 8th, just so happened to be the day that the Touch Pro2 was released commercially by Sprint. Now, this just might be a strong coincidence, (those seem to be pretty popular), or maybe it was preordained by the man upstairs...?
Regardless, I really want this phone, and I plan on buying it in the near future. For me, the HTC Touch Pro2 from Sprint represents nearly everything I could want in a cell phone. It's got the processing power, sleek and futuretic cosmetic appeal, and it's just about the coolest thing I've seen in a minute. It's not perfect, but no phone is. And I'm going to have to get creative to afford such an intimidating price tag, but I know it will be worth it.
I must have this phone.
Why I Want Sprint's HTC Touch Pro2
If my admiration of Sprint's HTC Touch Pro2 seems a little fanatical...too bad. When I like something, I really really like it. In the Touch Pro2's case there are a couple reasons why I want one; some technical, and some personal. I won't bore you listing all of the smartphone's specs, I'll just share with you what makes it appealing to me.
- QWERTY keyboard - The fact that Sprint's Touch Pro2 has a physical keyboard was a major selling point for me. My other Sprint smartphone, the Samsung ACE, had a QWERTY keyboard, but it just didn't feel right. The keyboard on the Touch Pro2 actually slides out and looks very functional. From the reviews I've read, it makes texting / typing a breeze, which is a lot more than I can say about a certain other touchscreen smartphone...
- Size - Some people don't like the fact that Sprint's Touch Pro2 is such a large device, but I think that's right up my alley. I find that whenever a phone is too small, I end up misplacing it more because I can't feel its weight in my pocket. That was the problem with my third Sprint phone; it was just too small. Also, I just like the idea of being able to hold my cell phone with both hands; it's kind of like holding a portable gaming system.
- Power - I'm not what you'd call a "power user", but I do like being organized, and that's one of the draws of Sprint's Touch Pro2. Everything is so streamlined and easy to use that you would have to try to be disorganized almost. Being able to jot down a creative idea with Microsoft Word before I forget it would help me out tremendously, because my mind wanders way too much and my short term memory is shot. And then there's the apps and what not...
I left the touchscreen out of the list because honestly, I'm not too crazy about that type of technology. It's cool, but since it seems to be the future, I might as well get used to it. At least its on a phone from Sprint, a company I feel I can trust.
If You Don't Want Sprint's HTC Touch Pro2 By Now...
...that's ok. It's not for everyone (especially not with that price, yikes.) However, I know that as soon as I get my next paycheck, I'm flying out to the nearest Sprint store to pick up one of these immaculate machines. It's everything I could want in a cell phone, I'm just a little mad it took so long to come out. Had it been released through Sprint earlier in the year, I would have been able to get one as soon as it came out. Oh well.

If you unlock this phone and flash a custom rom on it you wil experience the true power of the TP2. I would definitly advise anyone to get the sprint version as they have the fastest data speeds and good plans. Very nice hub!
