Truss Display Are Becoming Portable

With trade show season in full gear, exhibit managers and event coordinators are faced with the decision of finding the best exhibit to purchase or rent. While light weight pop up displays are still popular, a nice moderately priced Truss Display can accomplish so much more in the way of both design and functionality. Truss displays have been around for while. The downside to truss has been the weight of the system.

Several years ago a collapsable truss display system was introduced that at first glance solved the biggest negative with regard to truss displays. The pack out. The system collapsed so as to pack flat into standard UPS-able clam-shell cases. However, it never really caught on because of it visual appearance (it didn't appear sturdy) and the fact that it wasn't designed to support the weight that users associate with truss. So, it was back to heavy duty truss.

The good news is that at the 2009 Exhibitor Show in Las Vegas a new system was introduced that combines the best of truss in terms of it's ability to support weight with a pack out that can be truly considered portable.

One major advantage of a truss display is that it is capable of supporting a lot of weight. Since the price of plasma screens have dropped, their popularity has risen dramatically and a truss system can support this weight. Not only do they do this but you can place a 42” plasma high on a center tower so as to be visible to approaching attendees from across the convention hall. They do the muscle work for marketers.
