Trail cameras were developed by hacking a standard point and click camera so that it could be operated by a PIR on a control board. This allowed hunters to place the camera in the wild and monitor the animals on the land and their habits. The cameras have developed thanks to some major engineering leaps and the hunting community has accepted them with open arms. It has almost gotten to the point that people look more forward to checking their trail camera than actually hunting. I know I may have exaggerated but they really have changed the way people deer hunt.
