TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN: 2009 UPDATES!
Our updates from 2008 are still available further down the page, but here's the latest!
FEBRUARY 2009: MEGATRON IS IN THE MOVIE- AND NEW PICS OF THE FALLEN AND DEVASTATOR!
Images of Megatron's robot form from the new movie and also Devastator and The Fallen have been revealed on a japanese Toy Site! The Devastator and Fallen pics are below!!!!
JANUARY 2009: NO MEGATRTON IN TF2? Michael Bay has stated that Megatron will not be appearing in TF2, despite the rumours of the Autobots resurrecting him to help them fight The Fallen. Remember, the director has stated previously that a great deal of misinformation for REVENGE OF THE FALLEN would be dished out, so who knows if Megatron will be in it? personally, I think he's in there for sure.

JANUARY 2009- SIDESWIPE REVEALED!
The first image of Sideswipe from REVENGE OF THE FALLEN has found its way online, thanks to someone clipping it out from some leaked toy packaging! While the design is very different from the Sideswipe we remember from the 80s, he certainly looks very cool.
Plus, the robot design is a bit less complicated than the designs from the first film. Looks awesome! It certainly seems to be that Michael Bay and the Transformers crew have paid attention to the fans.
It was a point raised by many fans that the robots looked too complicated onscreen, but this time out it loks as though we will be able to see much more of what is going on.

TRANSFORMERS: RETURN OF THE CYBERTRONIANS!
Hasbro’s legendary toy line tore up cinemas the world over in 1986 with the much-loved animated movie, but nobody could have foreseen the impact that the live action movie would have on the box office when it finally arrived. When it opened in summer 2007, a whole new generation was introduced to the war raging between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons. The dreams of fans the world over had come true, with a massive science fiction extravaganza stuffed with some of the greatest CG special effects ever committed to a movie project.
Now the first sequel is in production, and word is that it is going to be even bigger and even better than the first. Originally titled just TRANSFORMERS 2, then TRANSFORMERS 2: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, and finally removing the ‘2’, the sequel is set to thrill fans with more robots, more action and more Megan Fox. A winning formula by anyone’s standards!

THE FICTION
The story of the second Transformers movie is being kept under wraps for now, and Micheal bay has gone on record that the rumours will all be false. How does he know this? Apparently there are various ‘facts’, scripts and even pictures that have been circulated by him and the makers of the film top lead fans off the scent of the real thing. He wants people to come to the movie fresh and unspoiled, which in this day and age is a real rarity. This the rumours all need to be taken with a pinch of salt, but the most common at the moment are the return of Megatron (hinted at in the title of the film) and the inclusion of the Constructicons in the film, and their secondary form of Devastator (despite one Decepticon in the first movie already using that name). Other unconfirmed rumours include the appearance of Soundwave and Ravage, and the female Autobot Arcee, who became a fan favourite in the animated movie despite not having a figure out beforehand.
JULY 2008 UPDATE: TF2: NOT A ‘FORCED SEQUEL'
Micheal Bay has told Entertainment Weekly that the second Transformers movie, namely Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is not to be seen as a ‘Forced sequel'. He has said that he hates those sequels that just serve as a bridge to a third instalment and as such this one is being treated as if there won't be a third. Of course there will be, but this is a great idea as it means that the maker are going for broke with this new film and not just treading water until the trilogy can be completed.
JULY 2008: OFFICIAL LOGO REVEALED!
The official logo for the new film has been revealed and the official movie site updated! You can check out the logo below.

JULY 2008: SHIA INJURED
Shia LaBeouf has been injured in a drunk driving incident. He wasn't driving the car involve, but sustained an injured hand which will keep him off the movie for a month. The production crew have thus had to switch the schedule around so the film can continue being made while Shia recovers.
AUGUST 2008
THE FALLEN- VILLAIN CONFIRMED & MEGATRON RUMOUR
It has apparently been confirmed that the big villain of Transformers: revenge of the Fallen is indeed set to be The Fallen itself. The Fallen is a character from classic Transformers lore, and is one of the original 13 Transformers robots that were created by the original Transformer, Primus. The Fallen is a terrifying and brutal entity that is going to be incredible to see onscreen. IDW have published comic book stories featuring the character already.
There is also a rumour from a reliable source that Megatron is to return in the new film too, when he is resurrected by the Autobots in order for him to help thm battle the Fallen. I love the idea of megatron having to work with the Autobots, and am eager to see how this one pans out.
SEPTEMBER 2008
CONSTRUCTICONS AND DEVASTATOR CONFIRMED
It has been revealed that the Constructicons, those much loved 80s characters, are to feature in the new movie, as well as their secondary form- DEVASTATOR. There are to be seven robots making up the giant formation of steel and hatred, and fans are uninanimously thrilled at the news.

Transformers Movie Merchandise
A massive range of official merchandise was released in conjunction with the first Transformers movie, including action figures, posters, comics, games, books, statues, stationery, homewares, T shirts and countless other items. This looks set to be repeated and indeed expanded on with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and fans are already clambering to find out which characters are going to be in the film do they know what is going to be available in the way of action figures and whatnot again. After the release of the first film, a large range of other Transformers became available that didn’t appear in it, which were largely taken from the various video games based on the movie property. These items, while not as popular as the movie figures themselves, still kept the fans happy while waiting for details on TF2. There was even an Arcee figure, in the form of a pink bike, but it is not known if she will be taking this form in the new film if she indeed appears in it at all.
