Popular Birthday Party Invitations

I have been planning and writing about kid's birthday parties for close to six years now and I have to say that invitations have sure come a long way! Some of the birthday invites available on the market now are so unique and fun they will amaze you. This hub will countdown the Top 10 Trendiest Kid's Birthday Party Invitations selected by me. I created this birthday invitation list based on the most popular, best selling and most creative invitations out there today.

Hopefully, this list of popular birthday invitations will help you find an invite that will impress all of your child's party guests. Most likely, if you hand out any of the invites featured on this page, you will be asked, "Where did you get those?" "Did you make them yourself?" I speak from experience since I have used some of the ideas on this page and they were a huge hit.

VIP Pass Invites

I handed out VIP Pass invites for my daughter's Jonas Brothers party and they were a big hit with the party guests. These invites look like authentic VIP passes and they come personalized with your child's birthday party details. Many of the styles feature a bar code just like the real thing. And to top it off they come with a plastic case and lanyard!

When I received these invites for the party, I could not believe how realistic they looked. So I asked my daughter if her friends would actually think that the Jonas Brothers were going to be at the party. She said that her friends would know that it was just an invite. We'll, believe it or not, there were a few kids/parents that thought the Jonas Brothers were coming! Now, I know I have a knack for finding the coolest party supplies, but I am not a miracle worker!

Anyway, all of the guests came to the party wearing their VIP passes and at the end of the party we took a group photo with all of the girls holding up their passes in front of a large Jonas Brothers poster. Sadly, that is as close to the real thing as they were going to get. But, everyone has a blast at the party so all's well that ends well.

In addition to the Jonas Brothers, VIP pass invites are also available in the following party themes: Hannah Montana, Twilight, Bakugan, Super Mario, iCarly, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, High School Musical, and others. I highly recommend these invites!

Cartooning Photos Birthday Invitations

I came across these unique birthday invitations a few weeks ago. They are designed by Take It Personally by Christine . If you are looking to really impress everyone with the time and effort that you are putting into your event start with the invitations! These invitations will have your guests speechless! Christine takes your photograph of the guest of honor and then hand draws out the face. The face is then placed on the body form. She then incorporates your wording into the invitation.

The basic invitation package includes:

  • 15- Custom Flat 5"x7" Birthday Party Invitations printed on glossy cardstock and mounted on coordinating heavyweight cardstock
  • 15- white envelopes
  • 15- 4in x 2in mailing address labels

Some of the themes available in these cartoon invitations include: Sports, Superheros, Karate, Carnival, Karaoke, Fairy, Mad Scientist, Cowgirl, Jungle, Pretty in Paris, Dinosaurs, Princess, and Farm.

Ticket Style Invitations

I purchased these ticket style invitations for my daughter's Disco Dance Party. Just like the VIP pass invites above, they are very realistic. Many of them feature a bar code and a detachable stub just like a real concert ticket. Another authentic feature is that they include the text, 'Section, Row, and Seat'.

One of the mom's called to RSVP and she said to me, "I didn't know there was a disco dance club in Greenville." Greenville is the town I live in and the address listed on the invites. She thought the invite was a real ticket to a real disco dance club! My daughter is in 6th grade, but many of her friend's older brothers were commenting on how cool they were. If you can impress a 13 year old boy, you know they are good!

These ticket invitations come in pretty much any party theme imaginable.

Die Cut Invitations

Die cut birthday party invitations are very unique and fun.  They can be personalized for free and come in many fun party themes including: Princess, Pony, Fairytale, Glamour/Diva, Tea Party, 1st Birthday, Dinosaurs, Lady Bug, Fire Truck, Ice Cream, Bounce House, Bowling, and Twins.

Scatch Off Birthday Invitations

Scratch off birthday party invitations are a really fun idea! They are a basic personalized invitation with a twist. There is a scratch off circle on each party invitation and the recipient has to scratch off the circle to see who is having a party. Under the scratch off section, there is a photo of the guest of honor. Very cute!

CD Birthday Invitations

CD birthday party invitations are cutting edge. Each CD contains 10 songs. These songs are children's songs or songs of your choice. You can send the seller a playlist to include if you like. The CD labels feature the birthday child's name, age and party details and are customized for the party theme. Each personalized CD comes in its own white CD envelope and is all ready to being handed out.

Photo Invitations

These invitations are not your basic photo invites. They are unique because they incorporate the guest of honor into the actual scene of the invitation.

Thanks for the great tips. I recently ordered invitations for my daughters party. I chose the JPEG only option and it was inexpensive. I printed the invitations on photo paper using my home printer.
