Triphala

Triphala is an ayurvedic traditional medicine that is popular as rasayana or the rejuvenator. It is the most popular herb used in ayurveda.

Triphala is the combination of three herbs. These herbs are:-

· Amalaki (Emblica officinalis)

· Haritaki (Terminalia chebula)

· Bhibitaki (Terminalia belerica)

Amalaki is the richest source of vitamin C that is highly beneficial for stomach problems and enhancing the immune system. Haritaki contains maximum B-complex vitamin that protects the lung from any damage. Bhibitaki is the richest source of vitamin A and has a property of astringent and laxative.

Triphala restores and balance body functions so that the body achieves maximum potential of the nutrients. It is considered as a highly nutritious compound that cleanses, detoxifies and toxifies the deepest organic levels without causing depletion of the body reserves. Triphala is considered as an effective laxative that helps in the body strengthening.

Amalaki is related with pitta humor, so it helps treating inflammatory complications, liver problems, ulcers, constipation, diarrhea, infections and many others.

Apart from that, Amalaki offers its significant role as antibacterial and antiviral substance, pronounced expectorant and cardiovascular nourishment tonic. Bibhitaki corresponds to kapha humor. It helps treating asthma, allergies, coughs and bronchiole complications. Haritaki is linked with vata humor. It is helpful in treating chronic constipation, nervousness and anxiety.

Triphala is a well-balanced formulation of these three constituents. All of these three constituents have been studied scientifically and the result confirms the traditional benefits of the same. In total, it is one of the best Ayurvedic rasayana or preparation that offers an excellent solution for lowering cholesterol level, reducing high blood pressure, enhancing blood circulation, improving digestive system and managing eradication without being dependent on laxatives.

Precautions

Triphala does not have any major side-effects. But it must be avoided by pregnant woman. People having complaints of diarrhea and dysentery must also restrict the use of Triphala.

avoid by pregnant woman. What about breastfeeding women, should they avoid it too?

seriously we need to find out if its suitable for breastfeeding mothers or not , i cannot find the answer anywhere.
