If you're anything like me you find it hard to value your own stuff when it comes time to sell it. Well I found a way to get a fair price for my used horse trailer.

There are a lot of sharks out there waiting for the likes of you and me, eager to beat us down and get a bargain for themselves. I had been warned but I still wasn't ready for the pressure that they put me under. They seemed to think that because I am a woman I would be a pushover.

They got my blood up and I decided to do my own research. I'll write a report as soon as I get a moment, but essentially this is what you want to do.

First, write down the essential facts about your trailer. Include, it's age, mileage, maker's name, number of owners, general appearance and state of repair.

This information is invaluable both to add muscle to your sales arguments and to refute the put-downs that buyers sometimes try on you.

When you’ve done that try to think of a real BENEFIT that the buyer will get from the good points about your trailer. E.g. “the trailer just had a new floor so there’s no danger of your horse falling through.”

Then go online and do a search for "used horse trailers". Make a note of all the trailers you find that are a near exact match for yours and how much the owners want for them.

You'll soon get a pretty fair idea of what you should be able to get for your trailer. Then you need to decide how quickly you want to sell. So determine what your, lowest, must get price is.

Then, if I was you i would put it on ebay. It will save you a heck of a lot of trouble and keep those nasty sharks away.
