vampire fiction

After reading the famous vampire book Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer, I wondered if other vampire books were as enjoyable. I went to a book store, and read several vampire novels and serieses. I was plesently suprised. Each of the books listed were not only romantic, but thrilling, dangerous, shocking, and dark. These books listed are, by far, my FAVORITE.

Night World, by L.J.Smith- The night world series is a wonderfuly dark adventure into the secret society, known as The Night World, filled with werewolves, vampires, and witches. Each book in the series has three stories inside, each with it's own characters and plot. The preface says: " The Night World isn't a place. It's all around us.The creatures of the night world are beautiful and deadly and irresistible to humans. Your best friend could be one-so could your crush. The laws of the Night World are very clear: humans must never learn that Night World exists. And members of the Night World must never fall in love with a human. Violate the laws and the consequences are terrifying. These are the stories about what happens when the rules get broken."

The Silver Kiss, by Annette Curtis Klause - This book was a great mystery of a novel. The main character, named Zoe, has a dying mother and a father is never home. She feels alone. When she meets the dark and misterious Simon, she is sent head-first into a world of night, where she may be the next disk on the menue.

Vampire High, by Douglas Rees- This was a humerous, romantic book about a home-sick highschooler who finds himself at a private school run by vampires. I loved Cody Elliot's (the main character) whit and the things he belives in. This book was a real enjoyable read.

Love is Hell, By Melissa Marr, Scott Westerfelf, Justine Larbalestier, Gabrielle Zevin, and Laurie Faria Stolarz -This book was dark, dangerous, and unpredictable. Each of the stories inside had great plots that would blow your mind. If i was raiting books 1 - 10, this book would be a definant 11. On the back of the book, the stories are described as: "From two students who let the power of attraction guide them to break the Hard-and-fast rules of their world, to the girl who falls hard for a good-looking ghost with a score to settle, the clever, quirky characters in this exiting collection will break your heart, then leave you beliving in love more than ever."

Uninvited, by Amanda Marrone - This book has an ex-boyfriend that just wont leave you alone. Even after he dies. Poor Jordan has to make an important desision that will determine weather or not she lives or dies. Should she invite Michael in? This amazing roller-coaster of a book will have you glancing over your shoulder at night.

Raven, by Allison Van Diepen -Nicole is head-over-heels for her best friend Zin. He's the best dancer she's ever met, and he's also incredibly handsome. While dealing with a brother who does drugs and high school drama, he is her only escape from chaos into a normal world. That is, until she gets attacked and almost killed while walking home. Before the attacker kills ,Zin shows up, and moves faster and stronger than any human ever could. She finds herself suddenly thrust into a world where mythical creatures exist, and the danger is very real.

Vampire Beach, by Alex Duval - This series was fun to read. It was funny, romantic, dangerous, and mysterious in ways i rairly find in vampire fiction. When Jason Freeman is forced to move, he finds himself hanging out with the popular crowd, who are not what they seem to be at all.......

Vampire Kisses, by Ellen Schreiber - Raven, the gothic main character in this series, has always loved vampires. as a little kid, she would watch Dracula and Nosferatu glide accross her telivision screen and want to be just like them. Now that she's older, SHe may have met her OWN Nosferatu. Alexander Sterling has just moved into an old manshion rumered to be haunted. With his gothic fashion sence, dislike of garlic, and extreme night life makes Raven think he's the real deal. But the more she learns, the more in-love she will fall with Alexander.

The DarkAngel, by MeredithAnn Pierce - Aeriel, a slave, is taken by a vampire with black wings known as a Darkangle. He imprisons her in his castle and forces her to weave gowns for his wives. Her only hope is to kill the darkangle before he kills her, but is stuned by his beauty and charm. Will she be able to kill or be killed?

Vampire Diarys, by L.J. Smith - Elena is a beautiful, blonde girl who has always had whatever guy she wants. When Stefan, a dashing guy wearing sunglasses, shows up at her school, she is shocked when he doesn't even look at her. Determined to have him, Elena works to get Stefan to notice her. But when he does, he has competition. Who will Elena choose? Stefan or his brother? These books were AWSOME!!!!!

Vampire Accademy, by Richelle Mead - Rose Hathaway is a sassy, beautiful, strong character who is a Vampire Guardian to her best friend Lissa Dragomir, who is also a vampire. Working through high school classes while trying to protect her best friend is hard work, but Rose doesn't complain. But this school year holds a suprising change, a new Guadrian is assigned to guard Lissa with Rose, and his name is Dimmitri Beikov. Even though Rose doesn't know it yet, she's about to have one crazy year. This is one of my favoite book serieses, and I think it might even be better than Twilight.

Glass houses, by Rachel Caine - Claire Danvers is in Morganvile for school. She hates it their, and is constantly picked on in the dorms. After she can't stand another second, she moves out of the dorms and searches for a room near campus. She finds a room in a house populated by three other people, who all have shocking pasts, and a key part in her future. These books ROCKED!!!! so0o0oo0o0o0 good!!!!!

i have read the bokk with secret vampire and daugters of darkness but the last one was called enchantress. there are also another 2 books. in these books they are searching for the wild power to ferfill this prophacey; four to stand between the light and shadow, four of blue fire power in thier blood, born in the year of the blind maidons vision; four less one and darkness triumps.

one from the land of kings long forgotten

one from the hearth which still holds the spark

one from the day world where two eyes are waching

one from the twilight to be one with the dark

translation; line one, for people will save the humans

line two, they have blue fire the strongest magic ever which only works if they shed blood.

line three, the wiches have three stages. the maidon of all wiches is blind but has visions. she is 17 so all the wild powers are 17

line 4, if any are dead so are the humans

line 5, was not in books 1, 2 and 3

line 6, a hidden witch. or, in the case of the books, the witch child

line 7, a half human half vampire. the two eyes are the sun and moon

line 8 a vampire

I read The ENTIRE Night World series twice, "Secret Vampire" and "Daughters of Darkness" three times (as well as the entire Twilight series), and i am obliged to say that Vampire novels are the future. Ash Redfern's story as well as Mary-Lanette's (Daughters of Darkness) completely took my breath away, and i CANNOT wait until April 6 2010-the release of STRANGE FATE (the fatal conclusion to the Night World Series!!!)
