Many people are asking "Why did Verizon buy Alltel?" The reason is Verizon as the best covearge and Alltel as the most people. But i think Alltel should have bought Verizon because Alltel as way better plans for your money then Verizon. I understand that Verizon might have better signals but Alltel cost you less. And Alltel has the best prepaid plan. With Alltel pay per day you can get 2 features for $0.75, 3 for $1.00, or 4 for $1.75. The features are unlimited texting,unlimited mobile to mobile, unlimited nights and weekends, and unlimited favorite number calling. So what is going to happend to your Alltel plan. Well they say by september there will be no more Alltel and everyone will be switched over to Verizon. You do not have to do anything to become Verizon. Verizon is doing all the switching and you will know if you are switched when your bill through the mail starts saying Verizon instead of Alltel. If you don't want Verizon and you want to switch now; you still will be subject to any of the Alltel terms. Alltel customers now as mobile to mobile with Verizon customers. That started feburay, 2009. If you have Alltel prepaid then it will continue to work through the transition period.
