Party balloons, the international sign of a party.

Ever since childhood I have seen a bunch of balloons as representing a party. There is so much you can do with balloons.

First you need to be sure everything is safe. Pick up the residue of burst balloons and make sure children are safe from any choking hazards.

For normal decorations a lot of balloons can be best. Bunches of balloons tied to the backs of chairs, light fittings and doors start to make the party look like one. Using bright colored balloons is best.

For the table, some helium filled balloons can help make the centrepiece rather eye catching.  

For special occasions like birthdays, graduation and weddings, there is a full range of themed balloons that can make great decorations. The shaped and themed balloons can be stars, musical instruments, numbers, cars, fire trucks, and lots, lots more themes. Getting the right ones can add to the party decorations. The driveway can be decorated with balloons, including helium ones, which have the guests photos fixed onto them. The balloons can also be decorated with party theme stickers. Also you can have balloons as part of the fun, they can have messages, jokes and funny stories on them. Guests can read them as they go. You can also put messages on paper inside balloons as part of each persons’ favour bag, perhaps just thanking them for being at the party.

Another great way of using balloons is to fill one of those huge balloon bags with balloons and hang it from the ceiling. As part of the event let the balloons out, marking a celebratory moment.

The fun with balloons does not have to stop there. You can also have balloon games.

Fill a large floor space with balloons, some with messages on them. Guests who jump in and get a message balloon win a prize.

Again, fill a large floor space with balloons. Guests get 1 minute to burst as many as they can. Prizes for the guests who burst the most.

Give each competitor a newspaper and a balloon. The idea is to flap the newspaper behind the balloon and create enough wind to move the balloon down a short course.

Each guest can decorate a balloon with perhaps an image of the birthday person. The results can be really funny.

Lastly on balloons there are those people who can create amazing shapes with balloons. Dogs, hats, cats and lots more shapes. Perhaps you know someone who can come to the party and wander around making balloons shapes for everyone.
