The worldwide videogames market does not seem to suffer from the effects of recession. A new analysis to the segment, led by DFC Intelligence, indicates that, worldwide, sales of video games, consoles and related hardware will render nearly 57 billion dollars next year.
The study also indicates that in at least 11 countries, the sales result revenue will exceed one billion dollars, with the Wii and its accessories dominating the market.
However, the leadership of the Nintendo console will not be alone for long. According to analysts, the PlayStation 3 will take the results of the Wii by 2012 even if it is one of the systems sold more games of all time.
Still, the PC will remain the most used games platform. The titles for personal computers yielded 7 billion dollars last year, and according to the study, should assert 19 billion dollars by 2013.
