Click thumbnail to view full-sizeMany of these vintage images depict one type of flower but some feature flower arrangements. The assortment of vintage flower seed packet and catalog art and flower show ads is particularly beautiful. They're very special because some of them date back to the 1800s. It's ironic that the artwork for these commercial illustrations is so colorful and compelling, yet even when the paintings were in production, the end results were always destined for the trash. Thankfully, many of them live on electronically.

Ideas for Using These Vintage Flowers
I find these vintage and Victorian flowers inspirational because many talented artists labored collectively for probably thousands of hours to come up with such gorgeous illustrations. These images have so many uses, it's hard to enumerate them all. But the following list of ways you can incorporate these vintage flowers into projects might spark some ideas and get your creativity flowing:
Print any of the vintage flowers (but particularly the vintage flower cards or seed packets) and use them on the front of greeting cards
Cover an Altoids tin with one or more illustrations and use the tin to hold a gift card
Print some of the flowers on card stock, cut them out, punch a hole at the top and hang them from a Christmas tree
Print several of the illustrations at smaller sizes for use on homemade gift tags
Decoupage a box or other object you buy at the craft store
Place several similar vintage flower illustrations in their own vintage or plain black frames to create a set
Print some of the flowers, glue them to sticks and incorporate them into a flower arrangement
Glue the flowers onto refigerator magnets
Incorporate the flowers into a blog or Web site header or overall design
Create your own avatar for a blog or social media site
Incorporate them into a table place card and/or napkin ring design
Make 3-D art by printing two copies of the same illustration on card stock, cutting out around the details on one of them and pasting it over the base illustration with small spacers in between
- Use as references or inspiration if you're learning to paint

Hi, Dolores. These would be lovely on a gardening hub. Enjoy!
