University Studies Discredit US Voting Machines

Ed Felten, a Princeton University computer science professor, asserts that US voting machines are completely unreliable, and says that there should be paper ballots accompanying every American vote in US elections. Otherwise, it will be impossible to check and verify election results. In an experiment, he discovered that it would take only one minute to potentially change the outcome of the entire US election.

"Someone who has computing skills, say, enough skills to create a computer virus and has physical access to a [US voting] machine will have the ability to modify how the machine counts votes and possibly modify the results of an election."

Diebold voting machines, their reputation destroyed as a result of their reliability being extensively debunked in numerous tests by computer experts, have now been renamed "Premier Election Solutions." Same garbage, new name, these crappy voting machines are still being widely used in US elections.
