Warioware Touched!

The first Warioware game, released on the Game Boy Advance in 2003, was always good. It's humorous, fast paced and easy to use, all that was needed to play was the D-Pad and the A button. Now, with the 3rd instalment of the Warioware series this expands on all of them.

It utilises the DS features in a way very few games even come close to. With many other games the touch screen is merely an alternative to the buttons, in this it is essential. The use of the touch screen makes the game very easy to play. With absolutely no practice you can just pick up and off you go. But don't be fooled into thinking it's flat out all the way. The more you play the faster the pace. You get less time to process the instruction and act it out. The great learning curve will cater to gamers of all skill levels.

This game has a vivid array of colours shooting across the screen. And while it never excels beyond 2 dimensions it is still a beautiful game to look at. The way a new game comes on every 5 or so seconds is a great, it gives a chance to show so many colours. It's dizzying.

It's not like there isn't anything to gain either. After playing so much you get yourself a brand new 'toy'. Such 'toys' include a Yo-Yo, Harmonica and clackers, as well as many more, increasingly random games to play. For these there is no goal, no high score to beat. This relaxes the game play and makes playing much more comfortable overall.

However, unlocking these 'toys' can be extremely frustrating. Requiring you to play the same game multiple times. This detracts from the main feature of the game. The complete randomness. Knowing what game is coming next over and over again simply ruins the fun.

And the music! Well, lets just say that if it weren't for the enjoyable sound effects, you would mute the game in a second. By music here, I mean the tune in the space between two of the many mini-games. Hearing the same piece continuously rising in tempo and pitch can drive you insane. It really will.

And now for the conclusion. The bit you've all been waiting for. The big finale.

Warioware Touched! is a very good game, a game I strongly recommend that you go out and buy. It is a game that will frustrate, and also amuse but that is why you should buy it.
