Wart removal methods

Wart removal methods

Warts are a type of infection caused by viruses in the human papillomavirus (HPV) family. Warts can grow on all parts of your body, including lips, tongue and genitals, but most common on hands and fingers. Warts on the skin can be passed to another person if that person touches the warts or towels that have been in contact with the warts! Warts on the genitals are very contagious and can be passed to another person during oral, vaginal or anal sex.

Warts removal and treatments

Doctors don't know why some warts disappear and others don't. Treatment may decrease the chance that the warts will be spread to other areas of your body or to other people. First of all, it's important to know that warts on the skin (such as on the fingers, feet and knees) and warts on the genitals are removed in different ways. Don't try any home remedies or over-the-counter drugs to remove warts on the genital area. You also shouldn't treat warts on your face without talking to your doctor first.

some ways to remove warts from the skin: Applying salicylic acid--You can treat warts on places such as the hands, feet or knees by putting salicylic acid (one brand name: Compound W) on the warts. Duct tape treatment-- Covering a wart with duct tape may also help because it irritates the wart and the skin around it, causing the body to attack it. Applying cantharidin--Your doctor may use cantharidin on your warts. If the wart isn't gone after one treatment, your doctor may suggest another treatment. When you see your doctor again, he or she will remove the dead skin of the wart. Ask your doctor about risks and benefits before you decide what kind of treatment to have for your warts.

HPV in man

male hpv

HPV infection can occur in both male and female genitals that are covered or protected by a latex condom, as well as in areas that are not covered. HPVs associated with the development of such "common warts" are transmitted environmentally or by casual skin-to-skin contact. HPV types that tend to cause genital warts are not the same types of HPV that cause cervical cancer in women. How can people reduce their risk for genital HPV infection?

hpv curing

There are several options for curing warts; penile wart and vaginal wart should be terated with cryosurgery, LEEP or other methods.

history of hpv - little is known about the history of the HPV virus, in fact a prospective study of men in order to further the understanding of the natural history of HPV infection among them is being planned so that effective programs can be developed to reduce its impact in males.

hpv human papaloma

Human papaloma virus can be a cause of a flat wart, vulvar vestibulitis and many other disorders. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the proper and consistent use of latex condoms is the most effective way to prevent the spread of such diseases, including HIV, AIDS and HPV (human papaloma virus). Information on human papaloma virus or condyloma viruses will include treatments such as the leep procedure, cryotherapy and cone biopsy.

is hpv curable?

There is no actual "cure" for HPV infection, although in most cases the infection goes away on its own.

HPV vaccine

A recently approved HPV vaccine that blocks initial infection with several of the most common sexually transmitted HPV types may lead to further decreases in the incidence of HPV-induced cancer.

Gardasil and Cervarix are designed to elicit virus-neutralizing antibody responses that prevent initial infection with the HPV types represented in the vaccine. The vaccines have been shown to offer 100 percent protection against the development of cervical pre-cancers and genital warts caused by the HPV types in the vaccine, with few or no side effects.
