if your whirlpool washer take in water make a sound but don't wash or spin you might need a coupler, it cost less than twenty dollars.if it wash but will not spin u might have a broken lid switch some will not do anything if the lid switch is broken others will wash but not spin,lift the lid and close it listen for a click when you close it,if you don't hear a click that is a sign that the switch is broken.
