My Cat - GUS , short for Augustus ........ a beautiful Tabby but what a woz ! lol has anyone tried to bath their cat ? I did ! kitchen sink all clear - Jugs of luke warm water standing by , a little cat / dog shampoo mixed into a little water in a bowl standing ready and a pile of towels - ok where 's the cat ? Oh good he is laying asleep nice and docile ! "here kitty kitty " I place him on the draining board and start to groom him , "good cat ..you are going to have a lovely bath, oh you will like this yes you will " I then pick him up lower him into the water AND .. * @ * : @ ** !! 4 legs each with sharp claws on the end are extended to their fullest my left hand gripping tightly around the scruff of his neck while with the right hand I attempt to rub shampoo into his fur, claws in my neck, arms and even thighs .. (I dont know how I got those LOL ) thing is the claws were going into me so deeply that I didnt even feel them and they did not bleed.

I just knew I could'nt let him get away or I would have lost the battle, so his claws went in deep My fingers tightened on his neck and for a few seconds things settled down - BUT big mistake as I poured a jug of water over to rinse the soap off he managed to grip onto a towel on the draining board and in pulling it he knocked over several jugs each containing 2 pints of water BUt I still had hold off him the kitchen now looked like a scene from the titanic - Gus looking like a drowning rat on the sinking ship and me well ! ! I was rather wet shall we say ! ...anyway now all wrapped up in a towel and sitting on my lap having a cuddle dry Gus the deamon cat was gone and here was my lovely tabby puss all clean and sweet smelling ! ! WHY DID I Go Through that .........

Well you see just prior to this event 2 - 3 weeks ago Gus went to live with my son - as I only live a flat and Gus has always been a house cat for this first whole year off his life, and we my partner and myself thought it would be nice for Gus to be able go out in world and do what cats do ! at my sons he would be able to go into a garden and beyond if he so wished and I could still see him when ever I wanted too Ideal situation you would think hey ! but then again this is Gus we are talking about .. he is just not normal, at my sons house he spent the entire time there living up the chimmy in the lounge by day creeping out only in the dead of night - which is why he was rather smelly and dirty and in need of that bath -

Anyway for all you cat lovers out there - you will pleased to know that he has now fully recovered from his ordeal with no harm done only to his pride maybe - also he has made it quite clear that he is perfectly happy being a house cat AND I WILL NOT be parting with him again although I may try and bath him again one day I am sure he would like it given half the chance.

WHY do cats think that by walking in and out between your legs, very nearly tripping you up - is the best way to get you to feed them ? YES of course it works because you know the only way to stop them doing this so as you can get on with what ever you are trying to do IS TOO FEED HIM / HER who trains who ? who is in charge ? the cat every time ......

 Is fish food harmful to cats ? NO is the general answer from vets - Gus Loves fish food flakes sooooooo much ! every time I feed my fish he is there up on hind legs almost begging for some flakes I am sure if he could get in the tank he would mug the fish ... apparently it has vitamins etc that are ok for cats so he always gets a  big pinch of flakes on the side when the fish get fed now - I just seem to have to buy fish food in bulk now ! I may start to worry though when he starts to grow finns  LOL
