Where to Buy Waterbed Sheets

So where do you go to buy these sheets for your waterbed? There are a couple of places. If you want to compare prices, the first obvious choice is to always check online. This will save you time since you will be able to quickly scan the different prices that are sold at different online stores. The disadvantage of buying your waterbed sheets online is the shipping. Although, many stores will offer free shipping but you will have to go look for them. They will often have sales during certain holidays and time of the year so you will want to be on the look out for those if you're not in a rush to buy.

The next place you want to look at are large department stores like Macy's. The advantage of buying them there is that you actually get to feel the fabric before you actually buy them. if you already know what you want then it might be best to buy them online if you can get it for a cheaper price. The third place you want to look, are at discount stores and outlets. Here you will be able to find off season designs that are out of style or fashion at a lower price. Sometimes you can get them for a huge bargain if there is some sort of defect with the sheets that you might not mind.

Types of Waterbed Sheets

There are different materials that these bed sheets are made of, each one will have its different look and feel to them. The common type of sheet is cotton. Cotton waterbed sheets are quite durable and although may feel a bit rough when you first use them, after a few spins in the washing machine, the fabric should feel a lot smoother. You will typically see them sold in thread counts of anywhere from 180-400 and higher. This number represents the number of threads in each square inch. The more threads there are, the smoother the sheets will feel. Of course, the smoother they feel, the more expensive they will be.

You also have a choice of satin waterbed sheets. These are more delicate and have that luxurious look to them. Unlike cotton sheets where both sides of the sheet will feel the same, with satin sheets, one side will be rougher than the other side. The rough side will typically be the side that will come in contact with your skin in order to better keep you warm. A third choice you have is flannel waterbed sheets. These are made from 100% cotton and are sure to keep you warm. These sheets seem to be the most popular.

Picking the Right Waterbed Sheet

Once you have decided which type of sheets you want, you will want to choose the size, style, and feel. In terms of size, they have all the ones you need like king waterbed sheets, queen waterbed sheets, single waterbed sheets, and so on. Make sure you know what size your bed is. In terms of style, you can find waterbed sheet sets in many different designs and colors like in the picture above. If you don't care about color matching, any will do, but if you do care, picking the right color will be important. It is also advisable to get more than just one bed sheet. You want to buy a couple sets so you will have spares.

Lastly, you want to go by the general feel of the sheets. Since you will be using them to sleep with, you want ones that will actually feel comfortable for you. Different people have different preferences. One type may feel nice and warm to some but may feel too rough to others. Because of this, if it's your first time buying waterbed sheets, you will want to go to a physical store like Walmart to get them. You can typically find cheap waterbed sheet sets there. Once you know what you like, you can search online for higher quality ones for a good price.
