Wedding Reception Traditions
72Welcome to this wedding reception traditions website. Usually Church bells ringing on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays is the signal for everyone local to acknowledge that a man and a woman have finally tied the knot in a wedding ceremony. This is a time in everyone's life that is memorable to say the least; we all love this day and ideally it should occur only one time for each person.
The wedding cake and toast are my two favorite wedding traditions on the day although there are many others to look forward to and where a wedding wouldn't be the same without them. From the first moment in the morning to the last thing after the reception, the wedding day is full of wedding traditions we have all grown to love. It is a classic scene and one that probably everyone has seen at least once where the bride is accompanied by the person giving her away, towards her new husband in an old but not worn ceremony. If you are planning your wedding, these things will be going through your mind because if you have been to a wedding as a guest you will know just how intense the emotions are just from the guests. Of course if you were to look at is simply, the wedding itself can be looked at as three distinct wedding traditions; the parties for both him and her, the wedding ceremony plus reception and of course the long awaited honeymoon.
The bachelor party is where the men get a chance to arrange some treats for the groom who is generally worried about what might happen to him. Some people say that the bachelor party cannot be counted as a wedding tradition but can you honestly imagine a wedding without one. I have been to a few bachelor parties, my brothers and a good buddy of mine but they were quite some time ago so I don't know all the tricks that they get up to nowadays. Often these parties are just simple affairs where a group of guys close to the groom get together and have a few drinks and maybe some dancing girls. This is the groom's last chance to have some fun with his buddies before other responsibilities take hold but this is not about last minute relationships with girls that are employed to entertain the party. The girls too like to have their final parties with their friends although they are not always as boisterous as the guys but they do seem to be making up for lost time.
Probably one of my favorite wedding traditions is the honeymoon, no, this is definitely my favorite. Arranging a wedding can be a big strain on everyone but at the end the only people who can actually get away are the couple who have just got married, with a few weeks to do as they please. It would be nice if more of the wedding budget could be spent on the honeymoon but that would mean that you would have to make cutbacks somewhere else on the wedding day. This is the really indulgent part of the wedding and designed purely for the bride and groom to have some quality time on their own. I believe that planning for your two week honeymoon should take more thought than the wedding as you want this to run smoothly as well.
