It depends on how old your child is. Personally, I have observed my grandchildren collecting all sorts of "things", like dolls and power ranger toys. Then the children start to be curious about their sibling's possessions. And that's where the trouble comes in. I personally think that the best thing you can give your child is a sense of creativity and exploration. I am a webmaster so i have created blogs for my grandchilren, Johan's world, Jasmine's Corner and Baby Talk. I try to encourage each child to write stories or to write about their latest experience. We also encourage the children in their painting and drawing. For me, these activities are much more worthwhile than accumulating, and teaching children to accumulate objects.
