What breed of Dog to get
54We all know choosing what breed of dog to get can be really difficult. I should know because it took me 2 years finally find the right one for me and my lifestyle. There are 3 very important things to remember before you decide on which dog breed to purchase.
- Lifestyle
- Personality
- Energy levels
If you have a busy lifestyle you don't really want a dog that needs a lot of care and attention, but one that doesn't mind being on his own for long periods of time.
If you have a grumpy personality maybe you want a dog with a similar personality to you so you could go for a grumpy dog.
If your energy levels are really good then the perfect dog would be one that needs a lot of walking.
Remember that choosing a dog is long term. And the reason i say that is because many people get a dog and then after a couple of weeks get bored and abandon the dog which is very upsetting and cruel to the dog.
Different dog breeds:
- Alaskan Husky
- Bulldog
- bloodhound
- boxer
- Bull Terrier
- Greyhonud
- Mastiff
- Havanese
- Kooikerhondje
- Kuvasz
Those are my favourite dog breeds but there are 100s maybe even 1000s more. Choosing a dog is no easy thing. I have now had my dog Barky for 3 years and it's really hard work but I wouldn't change that because hes the best thing I've ever had. But before I had Barky I had another dog named Lucy and we dint get along. Your probably thinking to yourself now "how can't you get along with a dog" Well its a very common thing unfortunately these days. People want a dog and cant wait so they just go out and buy one without thinking of the dogs needs and yours. And in the end the dog either gets abandoned or put back into a dog shelter for the next person to come along. So this would be my advice..................

Of the dogs breeds that you listed, I wouldn't recommend huskies, bulldogs, bloodhounds, boxers, bull terriers, or Mastiffs, to those who are not experienced with that breed. These can be hard to train, dominant, hard headed, very protective, and many other traits that are not for the un-experienced by any means.
