Are you considering abdominal liposculpture or, would like to know more about tumescent liposculpture? This article can help you in your search to know more and address issues such as costs and procedures. Knowledge on any subject can only help you in making a better informed decision, especially one that is life and body altering. Having liposculpture is a personal decision and may not be for you, but if you feel you would or could benefit greatly from having the procedure, then discussing it with your physician can better inform you and clarify answers for questions you may have. Now let's take a look at the procedures and costs.

Liposculpture Costs

With abdominal liposculpture, you can expect normally to pay around $2,700.  Strictly an average, this price is only for the doctor's fee, and doesn't include the cost for anesthesia or use of the facility. Both abdominal liposculpture and tumescent liposculpture can vary in their costs, depending on what doctor you choose to perform the procedure. Costs for any cosmetic procedure banks a lot on how popular a doctor is and how well and how often they perform liposculpture procedures. If you do your research well, finding a doctor that excels in liposculpture is not difficult, but the costs can be rather high at time. Being a body altering procedure though, you will want to opt for nothing less than a great doctor who has really satisfied patients.

You will also notice that liposculpture procedures vary in cost by quite a bit depending on where you are located.  For example, getting a surgery done in Los Angeles is going to probably cost significantly more than having the same exact procedure done in, say, Iowa.  You will also notice that there is quite a price difference depending on what procedure you are having done.  Having your arms done is generally pretty expensive.  Having your stomach done is usually a little cheaper.  But again, these prices will vary quite a bit depending on your location and which doctors you choose, so it pays ot shop around a bit.

Abdominal Liposculpture

Generally all medium and large procedures are performed under general anesthesia. Abdominal liposculpture is performed on the patient while they are given intravenous sedation. In the tumescent liposculpture procedure, the special tumescent solution itself contains the local anesthesia, therefore doing away with the need for heavy sedation. Regular abdominal liposculpture is quickly becoming over-shadowed by tumescent liposculpture because, more and more physicians like the idea of not having to put their patient's under heavy sedation that carry risks. If heavy sedation is not your cup of tea and bothers you, then address these concerns with the surgeon. This may allow them to help you understand all of your options concerning safer procedure alternatives.

Tumescent Liposculpture

Tumescent liposculpture is one of the more commonly preferred and performed cosmetic procedures. It is a technique where the surgeon permanently removes excess fat deposits that have become resistant to diet or exercise. Tumescent actually means "to swell". The surgeon first fills the area with large amounts of a particular solution that completely numbs the area. Then, they deliver an agent called adrenalin to the area simultaneously to constrict the blood vessels, this minimizes bleeding that may occur during the procedure. The fat deposits are then extracted by tiny tubes called cannulas, which are attached to a syringe. This allows the surgeon to sculpt the body area into the desired shape by using fine instruments.

As always, you would do well to ask around and talk to a variety of doctors and surgeons if you can before making any sort of decision.  Body scultping in this manner can be very rewarding if you take the time to fully explore your options and understand which procedure is best fitted to your situation.  Do your research and you can make a better informed decision.
