A Solution for Acne Flare-Ups

Finding the proper and most effective solution for your acne flare-ups is not an easy task. There are so many different treatment options available today that it can be impossible to really know which ones work and which ones don't without trying them out. This trial and error can be an expensive process but hopefully in the end of you have found the best product for you and your acne. You will find yourself having to choose from maximum, minimum or regular strength ingredients to a gel or a lotion or a cleansing bar. With so many different options it can be easy to become overwhelmed and forget the entire process. Therefore it becomes important to know which ingredients to look for and how to use them so you know which products are good and which will not work.

The active ingredients in any acne product include Benzoyl peroxide, Salicylic acid, Sulfur and resorcinol and Alcohol and acetone. If you are looking at acne treatment product or plan that does not contain any one if not all of these ingredients than put back on the shelf and continue looking. These are the most effective and main ingredients to fight and prevent acne, without them you are not going to find success in combating your acne flare-ups.

First, you will want to minimize your red skin and dry skin and to do this you find yourself a low strength acne treatment. These moderate to low strength treatments do not contain as many severe ingredients that are going to further dry out your skin because acne sufferers know the drier your skin the more acne and the cycle continues this way. Of course this low strength acne treatment may not do anything for your acne but the key to this strategy is to get your skin accustomed to this type of treatment and then gradually increase the strength to avoid harming your skin further.

Try to wash your face with non-medical products twice a day, more than this will harm your skin and less will get you nowhere. By getting into this routine you are taking an active roll in eliminating bacteria and oil from your face that can accumulate throughout the day from the environment, etc. By combining this with an oil free moisturizer, you will find successful results and perhaps the ability to maintain and prevent frequent flare-ups. By understanding what acne is and how to treat your particular severity, you have a higher chance of success than those who do not fully educate themselves on their acne and breakout patterns.
