For Most Canadian & American citizens thanksgiving is known as a Festival of the Harvest.
This holiday time is religious with most people but can be celebrated by all who want to.
About Thanks Giving
In America thanksgiving is celebrated on the last Thursday in the month of November with a national holiday. Lasting for a few days. Between those times there is usually a celebration meal of roast turkey and other delights. Bringing in the great harvest from the year.
In Canada thanksgiving is celebrated in the same manor but on a different date. This starts on the second Monday of October and lasts a couple of days with again a national holiday at present.
A lot of Families get together for this time and celebrate it within the household of one of the family.
The first thanksgiving was celebrated in 1565 in a place called saint Augustine which belongs to the state of Florida.
Another thanksgiving thought to of been the first one one recorded was at plymouth platation inĀ Massachusettsby the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag people (1621).
Nowadays this celebration is the one of the most celebrated festivals throughout the world.
