In my opinion, and it has to be stressed that this is only my own personal opinion and so everyone else is free to think differently, but to repeat, in my opinion the definition of a good film is that it should really strike a cord in your heart, that it should leave you thinking about the film and its arguments and that it should have made a difference in your life.
It will leave you thinking because it has made you view life from another angle that you hadn't thought of before. In short if it makes you think and view life in a different way it has surely done its job.
If a film can make you do that, then I think that not only was it a great film because it actually managed to get to you but that it will also serve to make lots of other people think in a different way as well.
Stories, films, books and even the world of music are all there to portray messages to us and although some messages are not as important as others if we are able to capture the essence of the important messages we have been given an edge to our lives.
Every new experience that another person has gone through, but you haven't, and which he tries to describe to you, is a real bonus on how to try to make the best of every minute of your life. I think that the journey along the years of your life is a journey or trip which is given to you in order that your learn as much as you can about the world that you are living in, and if another person, book, film or story can apport a little bit more of wisdom to the journey that you are undertaking then so much the better.
Try to be open to lots of different and new thoughts and remember that being open doesn't mean that you have to adopt those new ideas but listening to them would be a good idea as they might enrich the ideas that you already have or even add to them.
