what is yoga and its use
56Yoga by Patanjali
There are many uses of the term 'Yoga'. But according to classification of Indian Philosophy Yoga is one of the six sciences (Darshan) which include Vaishishike, Mimamsa, Nyaya, Vedanta etc.
Great Sanskrit grammarian Patanjali wrote sutras (threads) in which he describes in short what yoga is and what are benefits of doing it.
Mind, if it is the correct translation of the Sanskrit word Chitta, is not a material form.It is energy in wave form. Yoga is the science of cessasionof these waves.
Our body and sense organs like eyes, ears, touch, nose and taste organs are addicted to the subjects of their choice. When we are not aware these organs and their head drive us to do actions. Actions performed by us is stored in our head as memory of the experience. Human memory not only can store audio-visual images like video but it can also store tastes and touch experiences.
People get all sort of illnesses physical as well as mental disorders due to excessive consumption of energy in mental activities. Some people have a habit to worry, complain, get angry etc in-spite of their desire to not to do so.
They need to learn how keep their mind cool, quite, tranquill or at peace. etc.
Yoga is a self-disciplene where one is led to a 8-fold path. The first five organs of yoga are external such Yama, Niyama, Asan, Pranayam and Pratyahar. The most important limbs of Yoga are internal such as Dhyan, Dharana and Samadhi.
Dhyan or contemplation
In this part one learns how to concentrate or focus our mind. The advantages are dependent on what you focus upon.Suppose you are focusing on Sun, you will know about Solar System. This has two phases1 Ekagrata and 2 Samagrata ie Specific or General Knowledge.
Dharana Specially creative writers focus on their characters and suddenly they become their characters They start speaking in their character's voices, attitudes.
When Shakespeare become Juliet or Romeo, he could always do justice to his character . In this organ we know how to create other minds.
Last or the most important phase of Yoga is Samadhi or Cessation of Mind. It is not easily achieved. Sometimes you are in that state for a fraction of a minute.
But once you experience this state you will start accepting the world as it is, its people as they are, and the present situation in which you are as of your own choice.
Life is beautiful and the world is full of people who understand you, love you, and willing to be with you proactively.
The Yoga is a very slow process and its benefits or powers are hindrances. One is tempted to misuse or abuse the powers. But if done regularly it keeps healthy and living.

Yoga is not about postures and breathings alone, that part is called Hatha Yoga. You can practice it while sitting in front of your computer, however solitude is essential for it. Thank you Bkcreative for your visit and comments.

It has been a couple years but just recently, I decided to pursue yoga again, honestly and truly - to the point of arranging a space in my home just for it.
Your hub is full of good information and it came at the right time.
Many thanks!
