What Is a Podcast?

Podcasting has become a popular way of both giving and receiving information. Most podcasts are setup just like a talk radio show and for any topic you can think of, there is probably at least one podcast dedicated solely to bringing news and information on a regular basis.

Podcasts are really just RSS feeds which contain audio (and sometimes video) content, so it isn't a very complicated way to bring news and information to the masses. This is one of the reasons that podcasting is such a popular medium.

How to Create a Podcast That Will Brand Your Business

Branding your business is important aspect of doing business both online and off.

You want your business name to be known by as people as humanly possible and making use of podcasts is one good way to do it.

Unfortunately, podcasting is often overlooked by a lot of marketers. Want to know what a powerful tool podcasting can be?

Think of how many people there are who routinely use an MP3 player.

Podcasts are made to be used on a computer or on the go, so they can fit within anyone's lifestyle.

Podcasting is certainly one viable way to ensure that your brand is presented in a positive manner, and made available to anyone.

Make sure you create on-going podcasts that position you as the leader in your niche.

There are podcasts for all sorts of target audiences - including those looking for health podcasts, adult podcasts, educational podcasts, and more.

The best resource I've found for learning how to brand your business with podcasts is Niche Podcasting - A Step-By-Step Guide to Video Podcasts.

Sharing Your Podcast with the World Wide Web

Since podcasts are simple RSS feeds with audio files, they are incredibly viral in nature. It is a known fact that people share things that they like. Podcasts are no exception to this rule.

Sharing a podcast is as simple as emailing a link, or the actual audio or video file - it's a naturally viral tool. It's also a tool that you can easily put to use getting your website or business information into as many hands as possible.

Creating a podcast is not a difficult undertaking. It simply requires that you create an MP3 file and include a file known as an ID3 tag. This tag can be edited from within iTunes, where you can add your name, website and other information related to your podcast.

This tag will point the listener to your site, should they get the file from somewhere besides your website. There are many ways to promote your site or business on the Internet, but having your own regular podcast will allow your target audience to take your information with them while they workout, go to and from work or even while walking the dog.

This type of portable promotion is unparalleled by other online means. This is why you should seriously consider using podcasts in your promotional arsenal. For more detailed information on how to create a podcast, check out the New Podcast Secrets Revealed.

Hi Tiffany - I like this idea of portable marketing. Podcasts have been great for me as a learning tool. I haven't really thought of doing my own to market my business. Thanks for this hub and all the resources. I'm looking into it!
