what's feng shui
65Feng shui??? What's that? Many people are stumped as to what that is. Oh, they know that if you take the advice of feng shui experts and all, it'll be good for you in many aspects such as your lifestyle and business. But what is it actually?
Well, in simple terms, it means wind-water. Huh??? You are definitely confused now. Basically, it's an ancient Chinese practice of placement and arrangement of space to achieve harmony with the environment. Qi or air is the life force energy. Feng shui determines the energy quality and flow within space and its positive and negative impact with the people.
HOW DOES FENG SHUI WORK?
Even if you do not know anything about feng shui or do not practice it, it's possible to read the patterns around you. Improving your environment should naturally improve your well being. If you are making a feng shui adjustment while harboring a strong objection to making a change, it does undermine the positive intent. Thus, it's actually a consultative process to identify your needs and meeting them takes into account your budgetary, cultural and stylish preferences.
You do not have to place items that you feel you do not have resonance with. For example, it does not mean that you have to place Asian artifacts in your home to attract good feng shui. While it's not necessary to understand the workings of remedy for feng shui to be effective, it's definitely helpful to apply a recommendation with positivism and as beautifully as possible. For example, for me, I like the statue of Buddha so I put it in the middle of the shelf in the living room as it gives me the feeling that god is smiling down on me and it will get better in my life.
RECOMMENDATION TYPES
Each feng shui solution is unique as it results from unique individuals and properties. But they can be broadly categorized.
Position - it depends on the arrangement of site, on site, within site. How does energy arrive and flow to and within the structure. How does energy leave?
Yin and yang - this is the opposite. Too much too little, too warm too cool, positive negative
Quality - type of qi may be distilled to five basic elements - wood, fire, earth, metal and water. The confrontational interactions between them recommend an object element to balance them. A fire object may have qualities of light, heat, radiance, bitterness, spirit, passion and so on.
Conceptual - messages in the types of forms around you. For example, pictures of single unhappy people can be replaced with happy couples for someone who's seeking a relationship. It could be talismans that promote positive aims.
Repair and clean, organize or dispatch - broken or dirty belongs give you a negative expression, draining you. Excessive hoarding could be due to the fear that the universe will not provide. Make room for the new to invite opportunity. Of course, surround yourself with whole, beautiful and healthy items to improve your environment.
FENG SHUI IN YOUR LIFE
Feng shui can improve your particular journey but it may not make you a millionaire if fate and your actions don't provide an opportunity. Remember, the best feng shui can't overcome the consequences of criminal, unethical or unhealthy actions.
Feng shui principles warn that the kitchen door should not face the stove. Why??? While working at the stove, we may instinctively want to glance back to see if anyone is there. This might create a feeling of unease and makes us prone to accidents.
Thus, if we pay attention to our environment, we are able to create different realities. Everything is related. We just have to consider things carefully and not hastily.

Feng Shui is a craze in many Indian homes. The hub is packed with info and loved it.Thanks for sharing this.
dear sminut
it is a good hub though i would like to point to few intricate aspects which you may feel free to differ from
the buddhists and buddha are the only tribe rather the only tribe who thought about preventing ill health and diseases.
medicine was in the royal courts practised by courtesans and buddha and buddhista brought it to the commoners and preached in local vernacular.
they preached that inner harmony is a must for mental peace . for inner harmony there should be outer harmony which is feng shui
also when ayurveda and the medical knowledge then included three humours just like the aristotlena medicine buddhist spread the message that it is energy , hormones and inner peace.that being in harmony with the five elements of the envoronment so that energy is abundant , hormones are ample and in surplus and inner harmony prevails
do you agree?
i agree tiny teddy! but wow your english is really good. for a while i had to reread what you were saying again. heheehe but i would go as far as to say tht the buddhists were the only tribe who wanted to prevent ill health and diseases. i'm sure others were also of the same mind. though i defintely agree when you say for inner harmony, there should be outer harmony. thks for ur pointers.
also thks abhinaya, it's also known in nepal but i think via a different name. but the methods and practices are the same i believe since i have not much idea abt it.
i belive in feng shui riich people belive like real estate multi millionaire
mosly house with big lion and horse with water brink you luck i got a big gold horse with water now iam multi millionaire
lol so you're really a millionaire?
I actually follow all the feng shui recoomendations which sound logical. Like having happy pictures around, cleaning up clutter, and removing anything which seems to drain my energy or cause tension.
Thanks, Sminut!
Nice hub. I appreciate it because it is quite informative. I for one believe that while we can learn from other cultures, our artifacts, order, and graceful living should reflect our Own culture; that is, American culture. And within our American culture, I would even go further to advocate regional and tribal culture.I love to see, for example, Navajo's textiles and artifacts.Still, your article was superb!
thks lots kenny. initially, back inmy country i was kind of sceptical about it too. but coming here and doin research on it, i basically understood a little of the basics of it. thus i too appreciate it.
thks lots for ur compliment kristendom. it is true tht our living shd reflect our culture. i like it too. for me, i'm nepalese but i really like japanese artifacts which is also asian. thks lots.
I tried feng shui when I was younger. Well, I guess it's still kind of in my room. Like havingthe desk near a window or door so that knowledge can flow in. Well, I just like to have more than one view, versus just facing the wall.
lol, i didn't know about the door thing. thks whitney, i too learned something from you.
