Buying a Car

I can't even count all of the different cars that I have purchase over my many years. However, I generally purchase sometime between late December until the end of February. This is when I see the best deals. After talking to various sales people over the years, the reason for the sales vary. In December they are looking for end of the year sales for bonuses and etc. In the beginning of the year, especially cold climates, sales are down because people have spent their money on the holidays, and haven't recieved their income tax returns yet. Therefore to drum up sales, they advertise low.

Now, I only purchase new vehicles. Once upon a time, I swore that I would never purchase a new vehicle, that changed after I crunched the numbers.

Typically, new cars have a lower interest rate to finance than a used vehicle. In my case, insurance was also less expensive. So with a lower finance rate, cheaper insurance and a new car warranty to boot. Buying a new vehcile works for me. I always check with my car insurance agent before purchasing a vehicle.

One final note. While you are looking search the dealers website for unadertised rebates. I have found them in the past, rebates for being in college, recent graduate, being a veteran or military member of family of a miltary member.
