Many people surfing the web for answers want to do it without too much notice of who they are, location, or any specifics regarding their personal information. Internet Protocol (IP) addresses link your personal information to your PC on web servers around the world. You have to be careful not to supply this kind of vital details when you want to surf competitor sites, avoid tracking at work, and want to protect data from being accessed on public domains. Majority of today's PC workstations have tracking software to collect your usernames, passwords, web sites, and anything accessible from your server.

So, why should you block your IP address?

You should block your IP address if you want to bypass network administrator restrictions in order to browse blocked information. In doing so, you are allowed to view your favorite websites in a distorted manner but enjoy your surfing abilities. One of the biggest problems I have ran into when I want to block my IP address is network administrators denying access to well known web proxies. One way to check if your administrator has done so is to type in a leading proxy server then see if it is blocked.

If you noticed the sites are blocked, you can research other methods available when you want to block your IP. Never accept low rate proxy software as a solution; today's leading proxy servers can remain obvious if you want to obtain online privacy from lurkers. You have to use a few common sense rules in managing your privacy:

  • Never use your real name on unfamiliar sites.
  • Never provide bank account or credit card numbers on sites without security certificates.
  • Never allow others to use your passwords or usernames on public domains.

Your online reputation and information can be tarnished if given to the wrong person. Certain websites block proxy users from visiting their sites, but this may be for a good reason. Web sites with this kind of protection have a hidden agenda you should consider. If a website wants to block access because of anonymous browsing, you have to consider what they may use your information for. Are your cookies available? Do you want to share username details with other users? Think of all of these issues before relieving your online privacy efforts.

Integrate a Proxy Software for Protection

Sometimes you do not want to make an investment because the news can scare you. Imagine what happens when the wrong programmer gets their hands on your bank account and routing number. They may buy a new PC, shoes, clothes, cars, and even take out a loan under your good name. Even if you think this cannot happen to you - it can. Anyone can become a victim which means you are at risk right at now. No one is safe unless they have the right protection which can include a firewall, antivirus, and other security features - this can only do so much. A proxy software can make it hard for criminals to shave away your financial history with a few clicks. Keep them at bay with the right moves - invest in your online protection in order to move on without stress.
