The Department of the Treasury announced that in its first official week of sending out economic stimulus package payments, approximately $7.1 billion was distributed to about 7.7 million Americans.
Who would want to say no to free money ?
Electronic distributions are slated to be completed by mid-month; paper check distributions start May 16 and will continue through mid-July.
Direct Deposit Payments
If the last two digits of your SSN are 00-20, you should receive economic payment deposit by May 2. For SS#s with the final two digits of 21-75 by May 9; and 76-99 by May 16
Paper Checks
If the last two digits of your SSN are 00-09, your check should be in the mail by May 16. For SS#s with the final two digits of 10-18, checks should be in the mail by May 23; 19-25 by May 30; 26-38 by June 6; 39-51 by June 13; 52-63 by June 20; 64-75 by June 27; 76-87 by July 4; and 88-99 by July 11.

I agree ours is 05 and so is a friends and we have not gotten ours yet either.
Mine is 18 and i havent reiceved mine yet either. And i made over 3,000.00 and im a dependent. And i did direct deposit.

Me and my wife have not recieved ours either, we have one child and my ssn's last two are 08. I looked that the irs site and it said "please allow two weeks after posted date to recieve your rebate check", i filed electronically in JAN. I guess its the luck of the draw. Hopefully we will get our check sometime this month!!!!

I totally agree! My last numbers are 1 2 and I filed and received my refunds in early Feb. Feb 11th to be exact. Still no refund for me......
My last 2 digits are 20, filed and received my return electronically (Turbo Tax) in February and we haven't seen a dime. I too want to jump in on the "Where's my money" train. Georgie should have never put a timeline on this if they were not willing to stick to it.

The checks go by whoever has made the most income of the years social. For ex. if your married and your spouse made more it goes by their social. They didn't really tell people this on irs.gov. Hope this helps.

I agree my last two are 09 I had my taxes filed right at the end of Feb. and recieved my refund two weeks later by direct deposit, I made more than my wife and we have 3 kids. Still nothing yet. I quote someone else from up above. " I knew this was too good to be true."

there website is confusing and doesnt work. I tried everyone's I worked with. theres a whole big group here and we are all military. We all filed back in feb and received our refunds. Still nothing about the stimulus check. shoot right now I would settle for your not getting it or something. any answer is better than nothing.
I think this is a farse no one I know has gotten anything and and I'm talking ssn with 00 to 25 nothing well that's the gov. for ya hurry up and wait wait for what. I am suppose to get one of those checks to but I owed a student loan from about 20 yrs ago and I was told by the IRS that they were taking my payment to go toward the pay back of the loan. They also took my Federal Tax return to. So If you owe a loan don't expect your check. Sorry to burst your bubble but mine was burst and I cried. Have a good one.

I filed jointly with 1 dependent and I made more money than my wife with direct deposit back in February. Last two are 13 and have not received a direct deposit of $1500. I know that the Santa Barabara bank and Trust hold the tax refunds for several days to verify before electronically transferring the money into your account. So I am going to wait one more week before worrying to much about the direct deposit.
Ok, just got off the phone with the wonderful IRS...Since I used Turbotax, the irs does not have my direct deposit information. So, they are sending it through the mail...Gotta love our wonderful government....
Not a hoax! My numbers are 20, I have not received mine, but my daughter, whose numbers are also 20 DID receive hers on Friday. IRS can't even find me in the system. She did hers through the USAF; I used HRBlock. If it's being mailed ATLEAST IT IS COMING! Not fun, but have to hang in there. Yeah, I had PLANS! :)

According to the IRS website, you only get direct deposit if you didn't have filing fees deducted from your refund.

TAY TAY - if you made just over 3,000 you will get a 300.00 refund check.
$300 - low income single people
$600 - low income married
$600 - average income single
$1200 - average income married
If you don't file taxes you don't get a check. The tax system is slow, so don't fret if you don't get your taxes in the time line stated above. They should all be here by mid-may to mid-june!

I am hearing that if you were charged a fee to receive your refund by direct deposit, you will be receiving a paper check. I filed through HR Block and was charged to do direct deposit. That fee sets up a one-time account for the direct deposit apparently. So if you were charged (be it through TurboTax or HRBlock), look for a paper check.

My son & sis both have direct deposit, their last two ssn's end in 16 & 15. My son received his check last thur., my sis has not recvd hers yet; she has 3 dependents. Their tax refund was direct deposited. I trust that mine will be in the fed credit union on the 9th of may!!
Just remember, this is Bush's way of making our economy look better on paper. He is hoping you will use this money to travel or some other luxury. Show him our country is headed for the toilet. If the gas prices were lower, EVERYTHING would be lower. We can not afford the cost of gas.
So, I reccomend you put your money in the bank or pay off a bill. DON'T SPEND IT IN A STORE. Let this plan backfire so we get a solution and not a bandaid.

So having been told my money is coming I try to be one of the good little sheep and try to stimulate the economy. Trusting in the government to do what they said they would do. Went to see far off family and over drew my account. My fault for doing it...my fault for believing the government. On a personnel note... deciding who to vote for is like trying to decide which toilet to drink out of.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT PEOPLE WHO FILED WITH DIRECT DEPOSIT BUT HAD THE FILING FEE'S TAKEN OUT OF THEIR REFUND, OR DID RAPID REFUND, ARE GETTING PAPER CHECKS. SUPPOSEDLY BECAUSE OUR DD INFO WENT TO A THIRD PARTY AND NOT TO IRS.

I keep hearing and reading that people who are claimed as dependents DO NOT get stimulus checks...?? I am 23 and work my ass of for my money and pay lots of taxes, but now since my parents pay for my college and claim me as a dependent, I won't get my stimulus check? CThomas, if you were claimed as a dependent, you DONT get a stimulus check, so your parents could not claim you if you are getting a check. I am a dependent and over the age of 17 and I dont get a check, and I work also.
Firstly, to the genius who wrote "Who would want to say no to free money ?", this isn't "free money" but rather money we have already payed in taxes, get a grip. Perhaps you've you've never paid taxes.
Secondly, before you anyone makes an ass out of themselves with misinformation and ignorance, try READING the IRS site beforehand. If you paid a fee for your taxes and this was deducted from your taxes you are NOT getting direct deposit, same goes for anyone who requested a rapid refund.

My SSN ends in 12 and I have me, my wife, plus 2 children and I haven't received my Stimulus either. I also thought that this sounded to good to be true also.

i called the number listed above and they stated that refund is reduced due to my refund in 2007. head of house and child depend. should be 900 but my check will go out ion 16th always a wrench to throw into your plans
I believe it's a routing issue. Those of us who filed online with turbo tax or other software and chose to have filing fees deducted from our refund via santa barbara bank and possibly others and were direct deposited will be getting a check instead. If you used software and paid filing fees with credit card and were direct deposited i believe the irs schedule is accurate.

Janice, I feel for you. My ex who is a custodial parent was gone a majority of last year and I was still paying child support and taking care of my daughter. I filed with the court to change the parent child relationship and nothing has changed since last year when we started proceedings. This pissed my Ex off and now she is back home to stay it looks like. She is also reaping child support from her first husband for a child she is not even taking care of. Goto this web site and they will tell how much you are getting and when to expect it. My last two # are 67 and I am expected to get my check direct deposited on May 9th. They cut my check in half though from $600 to $300. Whatever, its going to pay off my creditcard.

Hey all I have some info I found out today. I did mine through Turbotax and elected to have the fees DEDUCTED from my tax return and then direct deposited in my account rather than pay for the fees with a credit card. If you chose to have ANY fees from any 3rd party tax company withdrawn from you return as it was direct deposited, you will receive a paper check instead. Look at "Where's my Tax refund" on the IRS website and it explains this. I am ticked as I did direct deposit and yet I have to wait till June 13th as my last 2 numbers are 39 for a paper check. And still, that is the day they mail and it will be another 2 weeks until I receive. AHHHH
Got Mine. They direct deposited it into my account on the date given to me by the website I previously posted. I didn't choose to have my filing fees taken out of my return so thats probably why...

According to the info listed on the IRS website, I was expecting my check this week (May 9), even more so because I had read somewhere that checks were going out earier than expected. When I called, I found out that mine will be mailed to me june 20th! I had received my refund via direct deposit in Feb. Guess I made the same mistake as some - having fees deducted from my refund for filing online. I just wish the government had made some effort to advise us of the third party issue when releasing the check dates. My taxes were filed with TaxAct.com.
I know it's my fault for counting my chicks before they hatched, but now I have to cancel my vacation for which I've already paid a $350 non-refundable registration fee because I won't get my check until the week after the balance is due.

Here is what the big problem is. If you got a Refund anticipation loan, or had the fees for filing taken out of your refund, you will get a paper check. However, this is the DUMBEST thing I have ever heard. What the hell does the government think we are? Yes, I would like to pay $200.00 to file my taxes, let me just pull it out of my ass real quick..... This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard, and leave it to the government to think of something so stupid. However painful it be, I still will wait for the money, I mean everyone is complaining, and yeah, it sucks, but still, I'm getting 1500 back, so I'll wait patiently... :(.

I was supposed to be in the May 9th group and did direct deposit but nothing yet. I had to pay and paid via the net. Wonder if that matters? Appears to be quite a few loopholes. I thought that payments were kicked off a week early on 4/28 so shouldn't we all move up? How is this stimulating the economy if we don't have the money? I guess we shouldn't have counted on it but I am guesing we did because we all needed it. Kind of makes a statement for the economy. Wages have been frozen for awhile now where I work even for people who were rated the highest possible.

people are not really complaing about waiting. they are complaing about the information be given out. if you tell people they are to receive something by direct deposit and specifically leave out important information on things that can exclude you from receiving it that way, it makes them upset. im pretty sure they would have avoided all this if they would have told everyone upfront everything and not slowly leaked out information. also how many people do you think really paid for there fees by a credit card/debit card/check. not many....its just ridiculous if your saying your trying to help people and your going the long way around to do it.

I want to impose a penalty on the IRS, WITH INTEREST, just like they'd do me if I didn't pay them on time.
I was suppose to get $2000, but they cut that in half because my gross earnings exceeds a base amount. So, if I charge them the same kind of penalty that they would have charged me if I had paid them late, WITH INTEREST added, then I calculate that the IRS now owes me $1,149,786.86.

I filed to receive the stimulus check but because I'm retired I didn't have to file. Do people like me still fall into the last two digits of the SS number for processing?
Just wondering, I filed direct deposit and paid my fees with credit card. my last two no. 49. i was to get the stimulus direct deposit on may 9th, but i did not. Today may 13th i received a letter from IRS they stated that i should expect my deposit by the 9th. this letters also tells me how much i would recieve and for me to allow 6 weeks if i did not received it by the 9th..

well, i also noticed this letter states that my stimulus is under review. LoL i guess if your getting the big buck you have to wait a bit longer. Concidering i filed back in Feb 2008..... Yes, i filed joint and have 5 kids...... anyone else....

Reminder, When they first announced the payments they were drawing out paper checks. Then they considered Direct deposit. The key to looking is to beaware that the government will find loop holes in everything they do. The web site says that if you have your fees deducted from your refund sorry you'll be waiting for a paper check.So forget the Memorial holiday celebrations that will wait for the paper checks, the gas prices,and grocery prices will continue to rise. While we continue to suffer through half the summer.This will only hurt the economy more. No family vacations, no extra revenue for the government and more jobs lost in the waiting.
Unfortunatly, it's true. if you had filing fee's taken out you will get a paper check. I filed my taxes in Feb!!! and my last 2 digits are 16 I thought I would get mine via direct deposit May 2nd! But now it looks like May 23rd!! Oh and those dates are when they are mailing them so add another week onto those dates! Very misleading!
i was suppose to get my on the 9Th. Alot of my friends used turbo tax and had there fee's taken out of their refund, and they all have gotten there money via direct deposit!!!!!!!! Who knows!!!!!!!!!
This so stinks. All of my co-workers received theirs stimulus checks. I have direct deposit and I made more than hubby. My number ends in 15-still no check here. My sister didn't or her son didn't get theirs either. I do not think they are keeping a good schedule. What the heck? It seems like the people that make more money are getting the checks. Cannot find a website that or phone number to help with this.

You are right! I does seem like those that are in a higher payment scale are receiving theirs. Maybe becuase they could afford to avoid the fees when filing . Just another attempt to treat the Middle to low class like CRAP some more!!! It isn't enough that they are taking our homes away/we should all just move onto the front step of the white house and pan handle! That is what they treat us like!

Wow! I know how to get traffic now! Just talk about money people are expecting. It happens that I had cause to call IRS today, several times. Each time, after I waited an hour or more, I was treated to a lengthy explanation about when the so-called stimulous checks were being mailed, before I got to sit and listen to more very loud classical music for even longer. Since I don't care when my rebate is coming, I didn't listen. Why don't I care? I don't believe it will do anything for the economy, and I certainly won't rush out and buy anything with it. I'll probably pay it on my Chevron card. If you seriously want to know, go online to www.irs.gov, look for Contact Us, and dial the 800 number. Sit there through an inexcusably long wait, and you'll get a detailed explanation. Unless, like me, you're too busy cursing at the long wait. I'm certain there's only one agent to answer calls for the entire country!
"Update" I got my check on 5/10 via the mailman don't know why it came that way,just happy it came!!!.......... good luck guys, those of you that are still waiting.........
Everyone who did direct deposit and had the preperation fees taken out of the refund WILL NOT receive the money directing but through a check on the check schedule. Complete bull crap if you ask me! Who cares how we paid for our preperation as long as it was paid and directly deposited?
if you have student loans out....then you don't get one, the governement gets their money first!
Turbo Tax has confirmed that if you had preparation fees taken out of the refund you will get a check instead of a direct deposit. ( this is for any one who had preparation fees taken out of the refund and not just Turbo Tax customers ) I have ran across some blogs that lead me to there sight after not getting my money and started to track it down. Sucks that we have to find out in msg boards or blogs but guess that’s the service we should know to expect from just about any corporation now days.
This is a cut and paste from Turbo Tax on the explanation.
If you elected to pay your filing fees from your refund, then a bank gets involved to make this happen. In the case of TurboTax, that would be SBBT (this explanation, however, applies regardless of which bank or tax software you use). When you electronically filed with a bank product (payment of fees or a RAL, which TurboTax does NOT offer), the IRS receives a temporary bank account set up by SBBT to temporarily hold your refund. When the IRS proceses your refund, the refund is direct deposited to this temporary account. SBBT then uses these funds to pay TurboTax (or whatever service you used) and the bank direct deposits the balance of the refund in your actual account. Once this transaction is done, your temporary account is deleted.
Your printed tax return (which was not submitted to the IRS) reflects your bank account information IF you had filed a paper return.
Therefore, in this case, the IRS does not have your actual bank account information and cannot process your REBATE as a direct deposit. I’m sure if the IRS and the tax preparation industry knew at the beginning of tax season what it now knows about the rebates, a lot of things would have been done differently. Unfortunately, rebates were not even real at the start of tax season.

I used turbotax and received the email stating I would not get money through direct deposit. I have read here it is because they do not have my account information because I had my fees taken out of my refund. Well that is not true I am looking at my paperwork that was sent to the IRS for every year for the last 8 years and my account information is directly on the 1040.
We did our taxes through H & R Block...silly thing is we got the Block "card" which in my head is the same as direct deposit (come to find out it's not) . We filed at the beginning of February and got our refund within 3 days. Now it is mid May and have not recieved our stimulus check. I read on Yahoo that many people have not gotten thiers due to errors by IRS (go figure) and that many people (1500) were shorted like $300 and will recieve another check to make up for it at the end of July. I guess we all need to just sit back and wait...wait...wait...Think of the country you live in...shouldn't we be use to it by now? Gov't doesn't care if you need to pay utilities or if you are about to be foreclosed...they will give you the money when they are damn good and ready to get up off thier fat asses. Good luck everyone...biding my time till I see the money.
As per the schedule i should have received my check as well. I found out if you had your filling fees deducted from your tax refund you will not be receiving direct deposit!!!!!!!! you will get a paper check in the mail so you should look at the paper check schedule to see when it is going to arrive!!!!! I hope this is helpfull.
According to IRS website, I was supposed to receive my stimulus check via direct deposit on May9th. As of May 16th I have not received any money and I didn't have any fees deducted. However, two of my coworkers did receive their stimulus checks. Just annoyed I was given the wrong info. Don't call the IRS it takes too long, when I finally did get through I was disconnected.
That's the government for you!!

If you were a retard and could not do the math yourself for your taxes, then you got an advance "loan" payment, not a direct deposit payment from the IRS but from H and R block etc. Because of this, you go into the category as "mailed" return and you will receive your check by June.
My last two digits ar 68 and nothing yet. You can't even call since no one wil talk to you. Extremely frustrated!
You know were lucky to be getting anything i was suppose to get mine on the 9th but after reading about turbo tax i see now why not. Hello everyone my last 2 gits is 87 and today was the day I suspose to received my direct deposit. I looked on the IRS website and its states if a person went rapidly on their refud or had fees deducted will receive a check.
If you did not get it by now, then you probably will receive a paper check "maybe"!!! post if you get it tomorrow. I think mine is one of them, that got sent to someone else bank account. Well I have to say things are kinda wierd. One good thing is my ex has a nice new hair cut and a complete spa day because the irs was nice enough to pay what I owed on back childsupport from being sick for the past 6 years with alot of chronic diseases. Kinda glad that it wasn't an STD but if someone would like to give her one please do. The justice system did serve me well they though since I had been so sick that is going to be the last and only payment she is going to get. Well unless a medical miracle can get rid off all these issues. Anyways, thanks Bush for getting the %$#@$ off my back. To bad she didn't spend it all on my daughter, but since I will be getting the remainder of the check I will buy her something nice. She is a good kid just has bad parents. Oh yeah check letter said being mailed on 16th hmm does anyone know if it comes out of the place you filed out of. That would only take a day or two to recieve if thats true? Now ladies I'm not a momma hater. Just one momma I don't like to much. Given the history you would feel the same way. I'm happily married now for 10 years and we have a little girl together. The letter i got in the mail said that i would be receiving my check BY the 16th and the irs website says it will be mailed out by the 16th and will receive it a few days after..what a bunch of bologna, but hey at least i'm getting something...could be worse..

I received my check on the exact date according to the IRS's payment schedule. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who did not, but overall, I believe the government is doing their best to fulfill all payment obligations.

Are you also saying that the US administration has no power to investigate and find out if the oil companies, which are raking in record-breaking profits, are price gouging the American public? Anyways to let anyone who has an ex with children know, If they collected welfare for years even if its fraudulant and not caught you will not get your rebate check. lol. I just found out they took the whole thing. Funny thing is when I found that out I also noticed she isn't getting a penny of the check. I don't owe her anymore money its just the state. Sucks for money to go out but I wonder if her being so greedy in the past is making her think now. Probably not. So everyone out there if you collect cash assistance even if your doing it in 2 different states, working under the table and making $50,000 a year. That money collected from the state does have to go back sometime. Usually when your dead but hey they will get it.

Nada!!!! Well I finally got an answer from the IRS. The lady was pretty cool, nice and sounded sexy LOL.
 It happen that I filed an amended return back in March. So this was the reason for them holding my rebate check of 2400.00. She also told me that they received my amended back in March 18th, and I would have to wait until it cleared so they can send me my rebate. According to my calculations they now owe me 3500.00 that’s my rebate and amended return.
They also told me the amended returns usually take 8 to 12 weeks for them to be processed. I’m at 8 ½ weeks according to the IRS. Its coming and when it does I’m buying a bunch of stuff for my kids and maybe something small for my wife. Just Kidding……
we filed the 15th. We were supposed to get my money deposited on the 15th of may. Here it is the 27th and nada. Anyone else have the same problem? LMK. Thank you.
My wife and I TURNED IN OUR TAXES THE BEGINNING OF MARCH.....DIRECT DEPOSIT....BUT FOR SOME REASON i HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY STIMULOUS CHECK AND IT SHOULD'VE COME ALREADY AS WELL. wHERE IS IT. i HAVE READ ALL OF THE INFO AND LOOKED IT UP ON THE IRS WEBSITE AND ITR SAYS IT HASN'T BEEN SENT YET. My husband's SS is 07. We filed by deadline. Haven't gotten a thing yet. Should have been by 16th. Here it is almost the end of May!

Second, alot of people chose to have their filling fee's deducted from the returns, which puts you on the paper check boat not DD. I think its called RAL, a type of loan.
So even if your refund came from DD, it most likely came thru a third party bank not the IRS so the IRS is sending you a check.
i mailed my taxes in on april 4th. a week later the federal government deducted the $63 i owed them, and i recieved my $56 refund from state. i opted for direct deposit for the stimulus check, and since my last 2 digits of my soc are below 20, i fully expected to have my stimulus check deposited among the first wave of people....well here it is june 3rd and i havent got it, nor have i recieved any word as to when i should recieve it. the website and phone number offer ABSOLUTELY NO information for me when i enter in my information...its SO frustrating! im kind of resigning myself to the fact that i will never get it! anyone have any advice as to who to contact besides the number on irs.gov? there is no reason why i should not be eligible for this check
I'm in the exact position as you, tricia. I filed my return using Turbo Tax a couple weeks before April 15th with me owing the fed some money and the state owing me. The feds took out the amount I owed them directly from my bank account, as I chose, and I opted for direct deposit of my rebate at the same time.
Well, I went to Turbo Tax's website to their FAQs and found out that if you owed the feds money on your return AND had the feds take the money directly from your bank account, you will get a paper check, not a direct deposit, which make abslutely no sense whatsoever.
If I had known that, I would have paid the feds by check and then would have gotten a direct deposit rebate.

I got a letter stating what I already knew, the IRS shorted my stimulus check by 300 dollars. They said it was an over sight and I would recieve the other 300 within four weeks of recieving the letter. I never got it and it has been over two months since I got that letter. It stinks!
Well I filed a injured spouse form because of personal reasons and was supposed to get %50 of my rebate. Injured spouse form was done in Febuary and apparently they didn't put it in like it was supposed too. They manually did it that was there excuse and then they said it would be 11 weeks for the rebate. Then nothing happened I called they said they would transfer it to another department. I would get a call within 7 days. Then they called said that it is fine should be back in the other department and it would be another 11 weeks. Well I guess I'm never going to see it. As the electric company goes up %30 on there bill and gas goes through the roof we all sit here and rot. Credit card companies seem to like to charge over the limits when it was there interest that caused it. I think we are all screwed.

I served in Iraq and filed taxes, I was tax exempt and never received a check. I understood that I would get one for 300.00. Didn't tax exempt soldiers get any if they filed? (I am single)
