Why Dieting Simply Won't Work

When it comes to losing weight, most people will tend to diet all their way to trim their ugly tummy bulges. Of course it will work for the first few days and subsequently the weight loss stops indefinitely.

Guess what?! The body has learnt that there is a calorie deficit going on and therefore trys to conserve as much energy as possible by slowing down the rate of metabolism. This is commonly known as "weight loss plateau". Although the body still requires the same amount of energy during calorie deficit, the body will compensate the required energy by synthesizing the body's protein. As muscles make up most of the body's protein, this inevitably causes a gradual loss of lean muscle in the body.

The Best Way To Lose Weight

It is very true that to lose weight, one needs to create a balance of energy and calorie deficit. However, with the "weight loss plateau" syndrome kicking in soon after a while, the way of losing weight by cutting down fat or carbohydrate obviously would not work! Instead, one should breakaway from the "weight loss plateau" syndrome while boosting the body's rate of metabolism and that would be the best way to effectively lose weight.

A well-balanced diet and regular exercises do just that. By exercising regularly, be it going to the gym, cycling, swimming, running or brisk walking, metabolism rate increases greatly, and a well-balanced diet on the other hand can provide the body with sufficient energy work out. Hence no doubt, exercising is the best way to lose weight.
