WHY DO YOU HATE MONETIZING HUBS

I recently stumbled across a recent hub where the author was almost demonizing the monetization of hubpages.  I couldn't understand why someone or anyone would make it seem as though it was a sin to make money off of your hours, days and weeks of hard work.  But the same person seemed to bask in the glory of being recognized for their writing.  Isn't that the same thing in a sense.  The goals are different but the effects are the same.  You go to work everyday not to be told how great of a job you did but to make money to feed your family.  Last time I checked the mortgage company didn't accept "thanks you's" as a form of payment.

Most of the people who write their hubs initially start off writing just for the love of it.  We you it as a release or just to gain acceptance for something we feel pationate about.  But then you find out that some of the hubbers we correspond with on a regular basis are actually making money for all of the work they put into their hubs.  This is almost something that you have to stumble upon alot of the times.  No one is going around finding all the newbies and commenting on their hubs about all the money they can make.  Finding the right combination of knowledge, research, and writing is difficult enough in itself.  So why not put a dollar value on an hour of scouring the web to find a few lines of useful information.  Try explaining to your spouse why you sit for hours and hours writing and not giving her the attention she feels she shouldn't be getting.

I think that if at all possible all hubbers should monetize their hubs. Even if you dont chose to monetize your hubs someone will profit from the ads that run on your pages and it won't be you. You are essentially working for nothing. Oh! Unless some veteran hubber with alot of fans who can drive traffic to your hub comes along and recognizes you and links to your hub. But why do you need all of the traffic and the recognition. It should be enough for you to have 1-5 visitors a day to your hub because it serves the purpose it was written for and that is to be read.

So in closing I would just like to say that if you have no desire to monetize your hubs please don't discourage those of us who would like to ate least be inspired to earn a living doing something we love.  And by earning a living I mean getting paid for work we do.
