Why Homeschool
64Why you should consider homeschooling your child
There are a wide variety of reasons why you really should take the time to consider homeschooling your children. Of course, these reasons are as varied as the parents and families who are currently homeschooling their children. Some of the reasons why these parents have chosen to homeschool their children include:
1.There are some parents who simply do not want their children attending a public school. Of course, there are various reasons for this. For instance, some parents live in an area where the school system is bad, or it may even be harmful to their children. Another reason why some parents do not want their children in public schools is for religious reasons. These parents may wish to have their children at home with them where they can learn their parent's religious values and beliefs. Regardless of why these parents do not want their children in the public school system, homeschooling parents believe that they have made the best educational choice for their children.
2.Some parents have had to truly sit down and consider the fact that there are a lot of things that homeschooling can offer their children, even though there are also some things that homeschooling can take away from their children. For instance, these parents may not want their children to be around the extreme peer pressure and bullying that are taking place within the public school system today because it can be dangerous. So, by homeschooling their children, these parents are able to have a lot more control over what their children do and with whom they socialize with.
3.There are also parents who have looked at homeschooled children's growth and academic development. Whenever these things are reviewed, there can be little doubt that homeschooling most often produces superior academic results in comparison to the results of a traditional school setting. You can see this whenever you look at the fact that there are a lot of homeschool children who have won the National Spelling Bee, as well as when you look at just how many homeschool children have gone on to attain degrees at some of our finest universities, often at a very young age. You may like to say that these children are merely gifted, but if that were the case then we must have a lot of geniuses in our younger generation. You might also like to think that these statistics have been fictionalized, but this is not the case either. In fact, these numbers come from the U.S. Department of Education. These numbers show that homeschooled children do a lot better than those children who attend public schools. You will also see that these numbers show that homeschool children are at least 1 grade ahead by the time they turn 12-years-old and as much as 4 grades ahead by the time that they are a teenager.
Of course, homeschooling your children is not going to be easy. Nevertheless, you cannot dispute just how well it works for those parents and their children who are willing to put forth the effort that it required.
