World of Good

eBay Launches an Earth Friendly Shopping Site

If you haven't had a chance to yet, this is a good time to discover eBay's World of Good site.  World of Good is an eBay site dedicated to earth friendly, fair trade, and socially responsible companies.  Every item on the site has to meet the criteria of being eco-friendly, fair trade, and ethically sourced products.

For those of you who are already familiar with shopping eco-friendly, you will find that World of Good is a good all around source to discover new companies or find all of the companies that you are familiar with in the same place.  If you are not already familiar with shopping eco-friendly, you will find a new wealth of companies making interesting, handmade, and eco-friendly products for surprisingly very good prices.

Ethical Sourced Product From Around the Globe

World of Good has pulled together companies from all over the world that are working hard to create a new world of organic, healthy, eco-friendly products that can be used by anyone.  Many of us believe that eco-friendly merchandise has to be expensive, and what you will find as you shop World of Good is that that theory is just not true, as there are many items that are under $20 that would make terrific additions to your home, or gifts for others.

The site is still fairly small as compared to eBay's standards, but is growing, and the best part about it is that you can use your eBay account to purchase items.  If you do not have an eBay account, it is simple to set one up.  World of Good highlights each vendor with a description of the company, and a blog that you can follow to learn more about them.  Products are labeled in four categories, people positive, eco positive, animal friendly, and supports a cause. And many of the products fit into more than one of those categories.

Developing an Eco-Friendly Community

One of the things that I find exciting about World of Good is that eBay is developing an eco-friendly community with this site, focusing on the small, often tiny companies that are currently producing eco-friendly products for your home, your closet, or your refrigerator.  This is a community that can only grow from here, and it will help customers who are interested in supporting eco-friendly ventures find companies more readily just by grouping them together, and allowing for a community to develop.

The variety of sellers represented ranges from organic coffee sellers to individual artists making jewelry from recycled machine parts.  You can find clothing made from bamboo and organic cotton, to aromatherapy candles made from organic essential oils.

I look for this site to grow and rival the main eBay site, as the world comes to discover that eco-friendly products do not have to cost more, and in fact will save you money over the long term, and that living a healthy lifestyle will be our gift to generations to come.

World of Good Contests

All kinds of people are helping to grow the World of Good site, and one way is through the contests that are being offered.  World of Good is always offering several contests at one time, at the time of this writing you can win a date with Nich Lachey, money back on purchases, and tickets to Jersey Boys Las Vegas.  You never know, you could be the winner, and help the earth at the same time.  It is tough to find something to beat that!  Follow any of the links in the eBay modules above to take you into the World of Good site, then have fun browsing.

  • Green Batteries

Looking at ways to save energy and money is what going green is all about and the idea of having less chemicals around by recharging the same batteries over and over is very appealing to me. Green Batteries is a post from: Eco-Chic Green Fashion - 2 months ago

  • Getting Frustrated Looking for Green Gifts?

Sometimes it is hard to find green gifts at a reasonable price especially if you want to spend $25 or less. With the economy still being sluggish this year, $25 seems to be the magical price threshold that most people want to spend on family that they do not see very often or good friends.Getting Frustrated Looking for Green Gifts? is a post from: Eco-Chic Green Fashion - 2 months ago
